Re: Seen today in Peter King's MMQB Columm and ESPN

Cameron Wake's Contract It seems to me that I read Wake has a clause in contract which allows him to reopen negotiations with the team if he reaches 10 sacks. He currently has 9.5 with 5 games left. This should mean a very big payday for CW. Especially when coupled with a Pro Bowl starting spot whic...

Re: Top Short-Term BC Lions (~2 seasons) - Dethrone Seniorit

Robbie interesting topic. I agree with the majority no Flutie name on the wall. Some comments on the players named: Less Browne and Charles Gordon; These guys were absolutely great. Browne smooth as silk and the all time interception leader in the CFL. Also a great leader. Charles Gordon was almost ...

Re: Top Lions of all-time-Top 5 +1

In my top 5 there are really six. I had to put Cameron Wake on this list despite him only playing two years. i do not believe longevity is the first criterion. In my mind the best players have extra-ordinairy athletic skill, combined with the following intangibles, Will to win, Courage, The ability ...

Re: Top Lions of all-time- personal choice

Some great names there! But my personal all-time Top Lion was: Merv Fernandez There has never been another Lion who has dominated his position like Merv did. He was the best ever. He had ALL the tools...speed, moves, hands. He was basically un-coverable. If the QB could get him the ball, he would m...

How good is Cameron Wake Really?

Well we know here in Vancouver he may have been the best athlete since Willie Fleming to play for the Lions. He was definitely the best player in Canada for two years regardless what the award presenters said. Simply dominating is the bestbway to put it. well today Peter King senior SI NFL footbal w...

Re: O'Billovich and Shivers: Personnel Guys Extraordinaire

I take nothing away from these guys. They understand the type of player required in the CFL. You look at the top four personnel guys in Canada. i do not mean just scouts I mean guys who bring value to the team through the recruits they find from scouts camps relationships etc. they would be Popp, Ti...

Re: Passing Yard/Attempt

Yes agreed your system measures and compares QB's. This YPA system measures teams regardless of who is at the position. It is two totally different things. Comparing teams is different from comparing individuals. You are trying to see how a team performs with whomever is at QB. If AC is at QB for Mo...

Re: Passing Yard/Attempt

Sorry JH you just do not get it or wish to get it. Passer rating is about individuals. Passing efficiency is about comparing one team to another. I have no quibble with passer ratings or anything you said abut that stat which measures an individual QB. Team passing efficiency is just that an attempt...

Passing Yard/Attempt

Byrne believes that Offensive efficiency in passing should be measured by yards per attempt not net yards per completion. He also believes that sacks were allowed should be added to the attempted pass total. A sack is a pass that did not happen. The formula for this is Net passing Yards (passing yar...
