Re: Riders Trade Fred Perry to the Smoe's

What recent history? Are you nuts? Do you know the last time the Riders finished in first place in the Western division? It was 1976!!! 31 years and counting! They've managed ONE second place finish in the last 18 years and have not managed higher than third for the remainder of that time. Next to ...

Re: Riders Trade Fred Perry to the Smoe's

I was referring to the last 18 years. There seems to be a sentiment that the Riders are in their glory years and their recent history proves otherwise, despite last year's championship. What recent history? With who? The Lions sucked before Ackles and Buono came in to run your franchise. We weren't...

Re: Riders Trade Fred Perry to the Smoe's

When times are good, which they are now for Tillman, he's going to get more or less a free pass but if times go bad ( and let's face it, with the Riders, it's only a question of when ) his shtick is going to get old real fast. Whats that crap supposed to mean? As if in BC, times have always been go...

Re: Riders Trade Fred Perry to the Smoe's

Not sure about that, WCJ. This may be as much about what Saskatchewan loses as what the Esks gain. Perry could be good at Rush End for them for 2 years, and more importantly, the 'Rider D-line is that much weaker today. Add to that with a Ray/LeFors/Maas combo, Jyles was odd man out anyway. Esks wi...

Re: Miller takes the job as Roughriders' Head Coach

Eric Tillman is the guy who chose Joe Paopao to be the HC in Ottawa, (nice guy, disastrous head coach) so his record isn't spotless. What I find a bit unseemly is the fact that Tillman asked for permission to interview so many people, and then ultimately stayed in house. Often you will find teams &...

Re: Steep Price for Exceeding Cap

You say that going out on top has nothing to do with Austin's decision. It was entirely about family. And you know this how? I can't say for a fact what was going on in Austin's mind but I can certainly suspect that there was a small piece in their somewhere that said "This is going to be a to...

Re: Steep Price for Exceeding Cap

What I did mean was that the Riders will decline at some point and that it was smarter for Austin to get out now while he is on top. We know how merciless Rider fans can be when things aren't going so well. Expectations are high for next season as a result of this seasons success. Somehow when the ...

Re: Steep Price for Exceeding Cap

The stars lined up for the Riders this year? Are you kidding? They were the most injured team in the league yet still managed to win it all. Need I remind you, the Lions were the team with the home Western Final game and the Riders went into BC and won.
