Lion24, the 1971 helmet you show is a very crude depiction of the actual helmet. 1971 was British Columbia's centennial in the confederation. To honour that occasion, the club put the centennial logo on their helmets - it was actually the provincial dogwood flower centred on three golden "C"s, for Canada, Confederation, and Centennial (the one you show looks like some kind of star in the middle).
The Lions wore the "Wolverine" helmet from 1959 - 1961.
