Re: Lions Blast the Riders - Post Game Stats and Comments

I should say I'm excited they won. I never expected that kind of blow out. I thought it would be a close game that would come down to the wire.

Re: Lions Blast the Riders - Post Game Stats and Comments

Edit: I've watched the game for a second time now, and I take back my regrets about the running game. The offense looked really, really, sharp. They didn't have the same success running the ball as past weeks, but they were facing a stronger front seven. Also, the passing game was executed so well ...

Re: Lions vs. Riders Game Day Thread

Edmonton your next!!! The idea that the Lions stand a good chance to host a home playoff game this year is unbelievable. I never would've considered it. With this performance the re-opening of BC Place should be a sell out. :rockin: :rockin:

I'm so pumped right now.

Re: Lions vs. Riders Game Day Thread

TD Geroy Simon!! This is a fun game. Good drive by the Leos ending in a TD. It looks like the Riders have checked out, except for making sure to take an unnecessary penalty on each possession.

Re: Lions’ line giving Lulay more time

B.C.Fan, isn't more of a case of balance between the two, instead of how much you do one or the other? Toronto may run the football more than anyone else, but how's their passing game? I think its the worst in the CFL. If the Leos flipped flopped things, and went from a terrible run game-decent pass...

Re: Lions’ line giving Lulay more time

What a shocker. You mean to say that the predictable, vanilla scheme we ran on offense was part of the problem? Nah!! What irritates me the most, and what makes me still want to see the current staff turfed after this season, despite the current winning streak, is that all the changes that ha...

Re: Lions 32 - Stampeders 19 Post Game Stats and Comments

I also agree with Toppy Vann that the Leos President's comments about the tap on the shoulder hit home...in that what he said was while Wally may have a job with the Leos organization for as long as he wanted to...it did not mean that he would be GM or Coach. Wow. Given that statement from Dennis S...

Re: CFL Team Rankings after 11 Games

I'm not sure it means anything, but the only team with a better point differential than the Lions is the Alouettes.

Re: Lions 32 - Stampeders 19 Post Game Stats and Comments

That was quite a game!! I'm still skeptical that Chap won't revert back to his old habits. That said, it was refreshing and fun to see so much variety in the offense. When they ran the screen play against the blitz, I just about fell out of my chair. I've never seen the Leos offense under Chap run a...

Running game.

Anyone else concerned that we saw almost no running plays in two pre-season games? I really fear that our offense is going to face similar problems that its faced in the past. Defenses will simply pin their ears back and blitz the hell out of us because they don't have to worry about a ground game. ...

Re: Lions 34 - Riders 6 Post Game Stats and Comments

I hope I dont jinx the guy, but I imagine that I see just a touch of flutie in mike reilly. I have 2 questions about mike. Is he very inteligent and how strong is his arm? I noticed that one TD pass was quite a wobbler. Hope that isnt normal for him :cr: I thought his arm was fine. Rick Ball sugges...

Re: Lions 34 - Riders 6 Post Game Stats and Comments

Wow. What a great game from the defense. I wish the offense could've scored a couple more touchdowns with Lulay in, but credit to Mike Reilly for playing well. Its only pre-season, but he 'balled tonight. 8-8, 108yds, 2TDs. Outstanding. This team looks very good... BUT its early, really early. Still...

Re: Rajon Henley drawing raves

I don't think he should be cut just to send a message. I'd prefer not to see him matching up against Geroy Simon come November. Calgary in particular is looking for DBs to replace Browner and Anderson. I'd rather let them sift through the collegiate ranks to find the guy, instead of potentially givi...

Re: Lions 24 - Stampeders 0 Post Game Stats and Comments

For a pre-season game, I was impressed. I really thought Travis Lulay looked sharp, poised, and ready to play. I haven't had the opportunity to watch many pre-season games over the years, so seeing all these young guys was fun, even though it was a battle of red rover with the kickers by the start o...

Re: Let's talk about the O-line.....

I think the offensive line might be the only portion of the offense that will be improved this season. Since the Leos signed Archibald to play LT, I feel more confident that our line will be able to protect Lulay properly, and open holes for Robertson in the running game (assuming the running game c...
