Re: Lions' receivers

Lucky certainly played around the edges of "team guy" vs "me guy." I get his eccentric personality and being good with the fans, but can see how an old-school coach might eschew all the 'unique entrance' schtick and excessive hot-dogging. The cryptic posts on "X" about ...

Re: Training camp 2024

When I saw Prukop skipping short passes into the McMhahon Stadium turf, I thought to myself, "uh-oh. This is not good." Despite his short yardage proficiency, he has never had an accurate arm. I guess the club figures Dolegala or Brice will be good enough (e.g., Tommy Stevens) and it's imp...

Re: Concert Kick-Off for June 15 opener to be announced Monday!

The club has just announced that, due to demand, the Upper Bowl is now open for the home opener on June 15.

Call me old fashion but the best ever Lions unis were from the Joe Kapp and Willie Fleming era. Orange paws on a black helmet.
That was my "other" choice (e.g. paw, old roaring lion head etc.).

Agree Squishy. For me, those would be an awesome 3rd uniform. 1976/77 throwbacks.

Re: Training camp 2024

They certainly have loads of game film of all the rookies they need to evaluate in the coming days and that must be their No. 1 objective fielding that roster for game 1. I would still like to see a sprinkle of more veterans — guys like Perkins and Knevel or "projected" starting receivers...

Re: Which helmet decal do you prefer for the Lions?

I guess if they’re going to use the monogram decal full time it may grow on me in time, but I find it a little bland. The Hamilton Ti-Cats did something similar (TC) during the 1968 and 1969 seasons. With our roaring lion, you instantly know when the team steps on the field that we are mountain lion...

Which helmet decal do you prefer for the Lions?

Which black helmet decal would you prefer to see the Leos wear for most games?

Re: Training camp 2024

That was a bit disappointing. * I thought the defense did quite well in the first half against a team of mostly Stampeder starters, holding them to only 13 points. Stamps could not get separation from our DBs. Things came apart a bit in the 2nd half as the Stamps completed a lot of passes. * I expec...

Re: Training camp 2024

https://x.com/RoarReport/status/1794109578822517139/photo/1 Looks like only vets in starting roles are Rugamba, Greene, Debaillie, and Flintoft. Marcus Moore saw action in a couple of games last year. Let's hope Dickey doesn't blitz the hell out of our Oline like he's done in the past (injuring QB ...

Re: Training camp 2024

Has Meyer been doing any of the kick-offs? I always thought the Alouettes/Argos had an advantage when Boris Bede would blast kick-offs down to the goal line or 5 yard line. Most returners aren't making it to the 35 if your cover team is worth its salt. As a sidenote, one battle I want to learn more ...

Re: Lions' receivers

It's really an embarrasment of riches. Kudos to management for identifying these Nationals (in the draft and elsewhere....the FA signing of McInnis from the Riders was brilliant) and to the coaches for nurturing/seasoning them. We could potentially go American at LG at some point. Have to see the st...

Re: Lions' receivers

The way I see it, in the event of an injury to McInnes or Cottoy, the Leos could go with an American there rather than trying to scramble to find another National off the scrap heap. This is how I could see us starting the season with Nationals: 3 oline: Knevel, Couture, Chungh 2 receivers: Cottoy, ...

Re: Training camp 2024

They must really like Terrell to sign him with camp already underway. Wonder if they will move on completely from Mizzell? I wondered the same thing, Sammy. I think the Terrell signing is more to do with the realization that Stanback is 29 with a lot of miles (remember the serious ankle injury in 2...
