befits a Grey Cup Champion, and also implies that we're tough to beat at home...which we are.

True, but since the GC won't be played in BC this year, then how about "Defending Our Cup".

"Defending Our Cup" is a little too simplistic (and obvious) for my tastes Robbie.

"Defending Our Turf" is a little more "lion-esque."

If the club feels the need to include the Grey Cup in its slogan, I would go with "Our Cup Runneth Over" (meaning we've got so much talent here, we're bound to repeat). A little cocky perhaps, but definitely not boring.

The 1995 and 2001 media guides seen on this thread contain the words Grey Cup Champions and a picture of the Grey Cup.

I think the design is just too plain. So hopefully, the 2007 media guide will contain more than just the cup. Perhaps an action photo as well as the cup. Or....for humourous effect, how about a picture of the broken cup?

i wouldn't find it that funny if it were in there, i mean it happened, but trying to make a picture of a broken cup 7 months ago trying to make it look funny would be like the Lions back 7 years ago.

While this may not be an original slogan, it may be in the case of the Lions because I don't recall them ever using it in an advertising campaign before. The Canucks used it at the start of the shortened 1994-95 season after their previous run to the Stanley Cup, and I think it is most applicable to the Lions this year.

It's Deja Vu all over again!

Any suggestions for a good advertising slogan for the upcoming 2008 season?

Please tell me you're joking. Totally lacks creativity. Besides, I thought the Bombers had a copyright on that slogan. :tease:

Not so much. Buy a seasons ticket so you can re-chew your own gum? Meh.

Repeating a post almost five years ago, what do you think about the marketing commercials from the 80's and 90's? Personally, I felt they were more interesting than the commercials of these days.

1984: Going for more.
1987: Excitement '87.
1988: We Mean Business (featuring the tune We Mean Business, we're not fooling around!").
1989: Good Time Football, Vancouver?s Lionhearted again (featuring some players giving out a synthesized and amplified "ROAR").
1990: Team Up with BC?'s team. BC Lions Fast Break Football.
1991: Power! (featuring that chant and tune "LIONS!.oh uh oh oh!.POWER!").
1992: Thunder and Lightning ("We'll provide the lightning and you provide the thunder!").
1993: Roaring Back.
1994: 40 Years of Pride.
1999: Come back to football.
