You rarely see the Bombers lose the battle of the trenches but Als pass rush was excellent much of the night and finished with 5 sacks and a huge 4th quarter forced fumble. It even took an incredible effort by Collaros to escape the rush for his lone TD pass.

Liegghio's 2 misses were glaring but the chip shot at the end of regulation equalled Cote hitting the upright from 20-yards out to end the 1st half. There have been some bad misses so far this season including Bede's convert miss against the Bombers that would have sent that game to OT.

Friday
Edmonton (2-7) at Ottawa (1-7) 4 p.m.
B.C. (7-1) at Sasatchewan (5-4) 7 p.m.

Saturday

Hamilton (3-6) at Montreal (3-6) 1 p.m.
Calgary (5-3) at Toronto (4-4) 4 p.m.

All the pressure on the Riders tonight? 7 of 9 remaining games for Grey Cup hosts are against BC (2), Winnipeg (3) and Calgary (2) including next 4 against Lions and Bombers.

That was a crushing loss for the Riders tonight. Now 6-8 with just 4 games left:
at Winnipeg
at Hamilton
vs. Calgary
at Calgary

Will the Grey Cup hosts make the playoffs? Lions have to do very little to lock up 3rd

Oddly, home teams are just 25-31 this season but most of the losses have been racked up by three teams. Edmonton and Ottawa are 0-6. Saskatchewan is 3-5. Other teams are .500 or better at home, including the Lions at 4-2, which ranks second behind Winnipeg at 5-1.

Hamilton leading Winnipeg 34-14 at the half. Didn't see this coming.

This Riders/Ti-Cats game could have major implications towards the Lions trying to hold off Calgary for 2nd place.

A Riders win would mean a Hamilton loss in Calgary next weekend would clinch the crossover on their bye week.

It would then leave them with 2 meaningless home and home games against the Stampeders which would be no help to us.

We may just have to go 3-1 and control our own destiny for 2nd.

And it’s a 18-14 Hamilton victory after Riders shutout in 2nd half.

Riders 6-10
Remaining games: Calgary, at Calgary

Tiger-Cats 5-10
Remaining games: at Calgary, Ottawa, at Ottawa.

Is it a bad look when the now 4-11 RedBlacks not only control their playoff destiny with 3 games left but still could possibly host the Eastern semi-final?

There was a lot of talk at the start of the season about the expected resurrection of East Division teams this year. Instead two of them have fired their coaches, and only the Argos have a winning record.

One of those fired coaches, Khari Jones, might get several HC offers, depending on who else gets fired.

I think the only HC at risk is Craig Dickinson.

Montreal will be hiring; Ottawa will be hiring; Toronto will give Dinwoodie another year, especially if they get to the Grey Cup; Hamilton already has Jones on staff if they make a change (doubtful).

Other than Riders, I don't see changes in HC in the west.

Hamilton did the Lions a huge favour Friday night, winning a wild see-saw game in Calgary 35-32. The Lions now need any combination of two wins or two Calgary losses to clinch second place.
