First Term Report Card for the Lions, after 6 Games.

Do we really want to do this? Gawd. Might as well. It is our team, going back decades.
GM Ed Hervey. Fail.
The cupboard is virtually empty of young, new, quality Internationals. We had no 1st round pick this year. He has gone All-In with Mike Reilly, and we do not even give him good pass protection. Our record is 1 and 5. We hear that the talent is good, but it does not look like it on the field. Pass rush? Pass protection? Receiving talent? Linebackers?
HC DeVone Claybrooks. Fail.
Collapse in the second half in game after game. He says a lot of cliche stuff, but the results on the field are abysmal. Some players, who should be leaders, do not demonstrate that at practice, goofing off in stretching, et cetera. Leadership is a huge issue with this team, and that starts and ends with the Head Coach. This fan cannot accept multiple excuses for why Mike Reilly is allowed to stay in the game, taking unnecessary hits, when the outcome has been determined.
OC Jarious Jackson. Fail.
We did not even use the run game early in the year, and that set a head scratching tone. Where is the pass protection system?
DC Rich Stubler. Fail.
Collapse of the defence, late in games, time after time. Learning curve for the players? Responsibility lies with the DC.
STs Taylor Altilio. Fail.
Tricked. Long returns against. The CFL's best teams do detailed preparation with STs, on side kicks, good returns, punt blocks. We do none of that.
QB Mike Reilly. Pass.
Good yardage, but it seems to this fan that he undermines the authority of his Head Coach, when he refuses to come out of games. No one else gets to take a snap. No development of a backup. Fajardo looks good in Regina, by the way. But Reilly's buddy from Edmonton was brought over to backup, so to speak.
RBs. Very good. White and Rutley.
Receivers. Burnham is doing what we expect. Carter has been a disappointment. Any other game breaking Internationals on the roster?
O Line. Fail in pass protection. Not their fault as individuals, as the scheme and system hangs them out to dry, imo. Their run blocking is much better in my opinion.
D Line. Fail. Not enough talent. Coleman and Louis are not making a strong impression. Willis is doing little. The other rush end contributes little. Pass rush non-existent.
LBs. Fail. Not stopping the run late in games. Not getting pressure on the QB. Not great in pass coverage.
DBs. Pass. Without pressure on the QB, guys cannot cover all day.
STs players. Pass. Punts, kickoffs, FGs all adequate, but not much beyond that. We got tricked on the onside kick that led to a loss.
Ownership. Fail. Missing in action. Away without leave. Absentee. Should have sold the team sometime around 2007 or 2012, following Grey Cup wins.
...............
Just in my opinion. And these opinions are not carved in stone.
