Kind of an old topic but since Radio 1040 featured in this thread somewhat prominently, I thought to mention that both 1040 and 1410 are being axed by Bell.
Tell me how long must a fan be strong? Ans. Always.

Bell axed 3 of their "Funny" brand stations 1040 in Van, 1060 in Calgary and 1290 in Winnipeg. I think 1060 and 1290 were formerly TSN sports stations.Sir Purrcival wrote: ↑Wed Jun 14, 2023 11:00 amKind of an old topic but since Radio 1040 featured in this thread somewhat prominently, I thought to mention that both 1040 and 1410 are being axed by Bell.
More importantly from a sports perspective the are also axing TSN1260 in Edmonton leaving them with only TSN690 (Montreal), TSN1200 (Ottawa) and TSN1050 (Toronto).
You're as old as you've ever been and as young as you're ever going to be.
Too bad. I tended to listen to Funny 1040 more than I did Canucks 1040.
In this age of blandness and wokeism, I found the stand-up incredibly progressive and risqué for AM radio, which was refreshing.

I never listened to it since the format change but usually only could pick up 1040 when driving down in the lower mainland or over on the island. I have Sat radio so when in the mood go to one of the comedy offerings there, usually Jeff & Larry's Comedy Roundup.
