Q1
Choose to KO?
4-2 to start. Soft. Overthrow.
Conversion.
Stop. Two drops.

Antolin nice return.
Great run AH. 9 in box.
Manny TD.
Great start.
Kudos to OL for both.

4-2 again. No overloads. Here is how we line up.
4-2. 9 yard run.
4.2. 4.2 pass conversion.
4.2. Steady diet. LBs 5 yard drop.
Bowman wide open. Drop. Bighill way, way deep out of play. FG.

AH stopped.
Conversion to Gore.
7 in box. AH stopped. Sack. Stop.
EE D wins that series.

4-3 blitz. Pass good. Pass. Conversion. No heat.
Blitz. 5. Pass. 1st down.
4-2. Run for 8. 1st.
4-2. Screen. Big play.
4-2. Throwaway. Agian. FG.

Int. Ojo. Jones likes DBs with length.

Momentum swinging to Edm.

Q2
No pens. Good.
Blitz. Screen. TD. 50 yards. Were Esks ready? Yeah.
Sad. Sad. 13-7.
Horrifying defence.

Fooled by onside kick. Lucky for us, penalty. That is no respect from Jones. Dropped by EE.
AH for 5. Overthrow. 7 in box. 6 in box, blitz. 9 in box. 7 in box. Note the overloads.
AH for 8. 1st. 9 in box. Nice tackle. Draw. 3rd down. Stuffed. Poor effort by our QB. He pulls back. He hesitates. Stuffed.

Chris R Int. Floater.

AH stopped. 7 in the box. Stopped. FG. 13-10.

Esks moving up a gear or two?

8 in box. Stuffed runner. Misfire. Stop, first two and out. Gheezussssss.

AH for 6. AH for 19, Awesome. Pressure. Missed FG, huge return. Gheeezussssss.

Conversion.

Anybody happy with Wally's guy Chuck?

4-2 D for us. 5 yard drops for LBs. Screen stopped. Dunigan making fun of Biggie going 25 yards deep. FG. 16-10.

Flag. Gawddddd ... Bazzie.

Pass to CT. AH for 5. Overthrow. Put Beck in.

Nice return by Lawrence.

4-2 big drops. Penalty on us. Big play to Bailey. 4-2 with deep drops. TD. Pathetic D.

I think we could see pathetic D for three years and Wally would blame execution.

Time to give Beck some reps.

23-10 for EE at the half.
......

Anybody, aside from Wally and Mark W liking that defence? Just f***ing horrible.

Harris definitely the player of the game. The guy is a horse. We've been saying for years here that he needs to get the rock more. This year they have really given him a chance to shine. Big kudos to the defense in the 2nd half. They really shut things down and let the offense eek out a late drive.

Q3.
Matt knocking Lions for dumping Logan and Brown.

Manny for 29. 7 in box.
Lulay misses CT.
AH huge run.
TD for Harris. My fave Lion for years now. 23-17 for EE.

Big KO for Leone.

4-3 in the box, but poor tackling. Sack. Death Roh.

Ant tough run. 7 in box. Ant for 4. Huge overload by EE. Knock down. Two and out.

4-2 with EE in own zone. Gawdddd Conversion. Huge. Blitz avoided. Huge play. 1st again. Helluva catch. Moving on our soft zone. 1st. Conversion. Completion. Good drive. Punt.

AH face mask. AH for 2. AH on his own on that one. Stopped. Two out.

Great recognition for Reichelt and Kato.

Huge run. Lions last vs the run, says Cuthbert. RP misses. Punt.

9 in box. Sack. Long throw. Miss. Two out.

Third and one. Going. Close. Short. Jones is pissed. Ha ha ...

Harris doing his part. Almost int. Two out. 23-17 end of Q3.

Q4.

Two out. Lokombo nice hit.

Nichols not good in Q3. Two out. Bazzie nice pursuit.

Matt with Chris. I liked their work tonight. Suits unavailable.

Two out. Sack. On Lulay, not OL.

With a porous D and an ineffective Lulay, all we have is Harris and the OL. And Leone.

Nice play by Lochard.

4-2, deep drops. Blitz. Nichols runs for 7. 1st down. 4-2 all game for us, but we got the stop.

We need a drive. Penalty on EE and us. AH short pass.

Playing hard. Not great results on or D.

Collie 1st. Collie. AH nice. Gore drop. Huge. Overthrow to Collie. Punt. If we trusted our ST coverage we should have gone FG.

Nichols cold this half. 456 left. Sack by Sollie and JJ. Blitz. TL to AH. 248 left. Wasted play vs pressure. Int. Poor decision. Poor throw. Lame duck. Collie just watched.

Stop.

Heat on the D, says Cuthbert. From where would that be? Hmmmmm.

146 left. 139. AH awesome. 131 left. Why throw deep? Penalty. 117. AH touch down. Go for two. Two to Gore.

Attaway Travis. Attaway Andrew.

Huge return by Lawrence. Penalty. Iffy call on Biggie. Pressure.

Jones gonna be pissed at Nichols.

Andrew Harris awesome.

Nichols really cooled off. Jones will not be pleased. Nichols knows it.

With his slowdown, we "held" the Schmos to 358 total yards of offence.

Lulay struggles but showed the amazing courage and character we have come to know.

Andrew Harris. If he had played at a big college, he would be deserving of a huge contract in the NFL. I know. I know. Just a little kid from Winnipeg. Just a National. Bull scheiss ... He has the instincts that cannot be taught. He has incredible heart. He has amazing talent. I think the naysayers have to admit it. But they won't. As Harris said, he has had to prove himself all the way to where he is. God Bless. You are a hero.

The D played their brains out, in a brain dead system.

The team is showing the calmness and some confidence that should be attributed to the steady hand of Jeff Tedford at the helm.

Honestly, with the same staff as last year, we would be getting blown out. Not this year. We play hard. We are getting better.

About that defence ... I don't much like it. This fan dislikes the system and the philosophy. The players are playing their hearts and brains out. But for me, this defence is awful to watch. They did get some stops. Some amazing efforts. 4-2 all night, with Biggie and Sollie on 5 yard drops. Ughhhh ...

More later ...

A few quick thoughts....

A much needed win.

Travis Lulay was horriible and his interception in the last 3 minutes looked like we were doomed. But Lulay is cool under pressure and if there is one player in the passing game that he has great chemistry with its Andrew Harris and the two came through for a come behind victory.

Our defense began the game as it ended the last game and all the big plays and points we gave up in the first half almost doomed us. But our defense played very motivated in the second half and the Eskimos offence looked discombobulated (a fave Wally word) in the second half without Bowman.

Play of the game. Ronnie Yell jumps a route to seal the game. Jones made a gutsy call, confident that he would win the game rather than take the choice of a longer field goal.

We were fortunate that there were some great individual plays in this game. The offensive passing game looks awful...players standing around, no motion, Leonard wasted again at slotback, lined up wide. Our running attack was excellent considering how much the Esks were keying our run - excellent run blocking and excellent running by Harris.

Lots of questions and lots of work ahead but a win is a win and it was an exciting ending.

Just back from the game! Crappy attendance, great atmosphere. Apparently the TicketMaster fees still apply at the gate, who knew? I do now. Anyways just riding the high of a comeback win in the crowd will dissect it more later, a great night.

Lulay looked inconsistent, I consider this a blessing. Not sure what the future is you can't diss a man for a comeback but for most of the game overthrows and interceptions... Scary.

Overheard in the crowd: "A crappy D and a so-so offence, not a recipe for wins.... why are we here?" On field product drives gate. Vancouver attendance is luke-warm because so is the impression of this team. D has a lot to prove.

That is all.
