Return of Buck Pierce and Joey Elliott
Will we see the return of the running game as suggested by Chapdelaine ?

The two teams one might consider weak in the CFL, Edmonton and Winnipeg, are loaded with talent also.
Makes for no easy games. Makes for great games. Just like last week.
As far as I am concerned the level of play has never been better, never more exciting week after week.
Lots of storylines once again.
TDM makes his second start.
We have heard expressions of belief that our running game can get untracked.
The Bombers are exceptionally fast on defence. Will they blitz the young QB, Thomas DeMarco? If they do, will the Lions show good anti blitz preparation?
Buck and Joey face their old team, the Bombers, from the other sideline.
Max Hall is also a young QB. Will Stubler go after him with the blitz? We let Collaros and Marsh have time to hurt us.
Tim Burke seems like a good guy. It seems unlikely that his team will do enough to save his job. But, they could still make the playoffs. That might be enough.
Akeem Foster is the kind of talent that could break out at any time. How he fell down and off the depth chart is kind of a mystery.
Is Solo 100%?
Be nice to see the new stadium on TV. Has it been getting good reviews? It looks good in pictures.
Lions @ Bombers. Bring it on.

Really looking forward to the game tonight! The Bombers should really be favoured in the game, at home with something to prove to their fans and all the naysayers. They came out and dominated the Riders at home in the Banjo Bowl and I'm expected no less of effort today. The Bombers also have had a couple of extra days of practice, while the Lions only had 2 practices to prepare for Wpg. If the Lions can pull out a win tonight on the road with a backup QB, they probably deserve to be a 1st place team!
This will be my 4th game at IGF and it's a great facility......with the exception of sitting in the end zones, where you are not covered and field perspective is poor (like most end zones)......and trying to get out of there after the game is brutal.
Sadly, the fans traveling with the Lions will be sitting in the end zone tonight.....and the forecast is cloudy with showers and a temp of 13 degrees.

In last year's visit we escaped with a win by the skin of our teeth after nearly frittering it away with sloppy play through most of the second half. We didn't move the ball at all until we finally strung a TD drive together in the last few minutes after back-to-back interceptions and even then poor clock management on the final drive nearly cost us a chance at the GWFG. All this against a team that wasn't all that much better than the one we face tonight. I'm not counting on a cakewalk. This could easily be a trap game if the players are looking past it to Ssk next week.
Sports can be a peculiar thing. When partaking in fiction, like a book or movie, we adopt a "Willing Suspension of Disbelief" for enjoyment's sake. There's a similar force at work in sports: "Willing Suspension of Rationality". If you doubt this, listen to any conversation between rival team fans. You even see it among fans of the same team. Fans argue over who's the better QB or goalie, and selectively cite stats that support their views while ignoring those that don't.

Lions need to capitalize when they're in the red zone instead of kicking field goals. The longer they allow the Bombers to remain the game, they more confidence they will gain.
Lions worked on red zone play this week, I think you will see more production given the chamce.TheLionKing wrote:Lions need to capitalize when they're in the red zone instead of kicking field goals. The longer they allow the Bombers to remain the game, they more confidence they will gain.
Entertainment value = an all time low

Only this week ?? This has been a problem most of the season. Hope you're right Rammer
The B.C. offence actually ranks second or third in the league in the red zone, after Toronto. Oddly, Winnipeg is right up there with the Lions, although they've had far fewer opportunitiesTheLionKing wrote:Only this week ?? This has been a problem most of the season. Hope you're right Rammer

That's the way to start a game
Bighill recovers a Wpg fumble and scores a TD on the first play from scrimmage. That's a good way to start and take the crowd out of it. 7-0 BC with the convert.

Amazing what a difference it makes when the defence comes ready to play on the road.

An alert play by Bighill. Realized he wasn't touched. Got up and took it to the house
Wow, we gave that one back in a hurry.
