How much can i get from a work comp back injury settlement? I'm 25 yrs old and I was hurt on the job resulting in a lower back surgery, I have to see a pain specialist every month, as well as take pain pills. My work comp adjuster is wanting to settle and I could use the extra cash. What is the average settlement on a work comp back injury?

WorkSafeBC will not "settle" unless you have a permanent functional disability. The Worker's compensation act (Section 29 and 30) indicate that if your employer is offering meaningful modified duties, the Board is obligated by the constraints of the WCB act determine the suitability of modified duties and to develop graduated return to work plans to assist injured workers back to their pre injury job status. If this is medically not possible due the extent of the injury, then the medical information submitted by your specialist will be reviewed for a potential referral for a pension or referral to a vocational rehabilitation officer for options in re-training or both.....

You shoud be talking with your case manager or employee rep.....
