Oct. 17 - BC Lions at Edmonton Eskimos Game Day Thread

The Lions are looking for revenge for their poor performance last week in their rematch today. But it will definitely be an uphill climb as they head into Commonwealth Stadium where winning is never easy historically. The Lions are in a three way tie with Edmonton and Saskatchewan at 18 points, behind Calgary's 20 points. The Lions better come through if they want to host the WDF for the fifth straight year.

I hope the field is in a safe condition to play . I want to see a bigger Lions win (13 or more) but I think this will be a close one. So, in spite of the Lions win....I think the Esks win the series.

we need to win by 13 to overcome the 12 point deficit we currently have vs edmonton. I hope for zero injuries.

Lions DB's no match for RR. Banks will have his usual sub-par performance and LB's won't be able to stop McCarty and Anderson. Too old, too set in their country club style ways... Leo's lose.

The Lions LB'ers need to jump up on the short pass when the pressure is on, RR will always risk a toss to avoid the impending sack. If we can take a couple of those passes away from him, he won't be near as affective if the DL can continue to get the push.

That's what I meant too. We're on the same page WBTY. I love the CFL and I want the Lions to win, but I don't want players injured.

B.C.'s linebackers and cornerbacks did a great job last week of shutting dfown Edmonton's running game and bread-and-butter short passing game. It will be tougher this week on the natural grass, where defenders are more likely to slip on the cutback, but the footing affects both teams.

Ray beat the Lions last week by throwing deep down the seam on second and long. The key to success tonight for B.C.'s defence will be the play of the halfbacks and safety.

I'm with you on that. Wouldn't be surprised though if Ray uses the short game today knowing that the emphasis this week was on stopping the longer stuff. I think we're going to get that 13 points in fact I'm going with a two td victory!

Need to take away that pass up the seam in the middle. Shift Glover and Banks toward the hash marks in 2nd and long, with Miles playing shortstop.

Rub them at the line. A lot. Murphize them when they hold on Offence.
