Because I did not read this post, I was very surprised today when I received "The Waterboy" in the mail as a gift from Dave Braley.
Thank you Mr. Braley.

Since it took 3 or 4 more days to get this gift in Victoria than Vancouver, I assume that Canada Post is still using a rowboat to get the mail to Vancouver Island. :sigh:
I'm feelin' fine

Still waiting up north. Guess the sled dogs got tired of pulling without snow under their feet.
Now that I don't live in Quesnel do I need to change my handle??

I finally finished the book today! I haven't been home much and have been squeezing in reading time while on the bus! :P

It's REALLY good! Anyone who hasn't read it yet...you're going to love it! I was hooked right away =)

I'm through the first two chapters. Not generally big on biographical stuff, but this is some great reading!

I totally enjoyed the book. I wish it was 3-4 times longer.
It was just such an interesting read. I had a hard time putting it down.

Thanks for the heads-up on that, Robbie....... would Costco allow non-member shmucks like me -- or do they exercise strict quality control? :?
Sports can be a peculiar thing. When partaking in fiction, like a book or movie, we adopt a "Willing Suspension of Disbelief" for enjoyment's sake. There's a similar force at work in sports: "Willing Suspension of Rationality". If you doubt this, listen to any conversation between rival team fans. You even see it among fans of the same team. Fans argue over who's the better QB or goalie, and selectively cite stats that support their views while ignoring those that don't.

I guess if it's by the entrance, they might allow you. But if it's inside the store, you may have to ask a member to bring you in as a guest.

I'm more than half way through Bob's book and it is a great read.

Ended up staying on the same floor at a hotel, he recognized me from one of his book signings, gave a smile and "Hello" then made small talk while waiting for the elevator. Ackles is a class act all the way.
