There must be some reason they don't just let all retired players in the HOF? Isn't it supposed to mean something?? Pinball will be a shoe-in for the HOF for his coaching and community work, after he retires from the CFL.
I think you're understating Pinball's impact. The only thing Gizmo had over Pinner was punt returns. Gizmo went into the HOF as a punt returner/kickoff returner. Pinball may not have been as deadly on punt returns a Gizmo, but he matched him on kickoffs plus played every down on offence. Gizmo played 200 games over 14 years while Pinball's numbers are from 185 games over 12 years.

Career punt returns:
Gizmo 1003 for 11177 yds & 26 TD #1 all time by a mile.
Pinball 610 for 6025 yds & 8 TDs #3 all time in returns & yds; #2 in TDs

Career kickoff returns:
Gizmo 335 for 7354 yds & 2 TDs #1 all time
Pinball 300 for 6349 yds & 0 TDs #2 all time

Missed FG returns:
Gizmo 59 for 1646 yds & 3 TDs
Pinball 32 for 655 yds & 0 TDs

Career rushing:
Gizmo 25 for 106 yds & 1 TD
Pinball 1107 for 5341 yds & 31 TDs

Career receiving:
Gizmo 199 for 3644 yds & 21 TD
Pinball 682 for 7015 yds & 46 TDs

Total all-purpose:
Gizmo 23927 #2 all-time
Pinball 25438 #1 all-time

Total TDs:
Gizmo 53
Pinball 85 #14 all-time

Pinball is also just outside the top 10 in all time-yards from scrimmage. Entering 2006 Kelvin Anderson held down #10 at 12506. Pinner is 150 behind him with 12356.

They should enter together.
Inductee nominees are brought up by media members so sometimes players get forgotten for a while.

Well, a plausible explanation is that Darren Flutie retired earlier. I'm sure there is a nomination deadline for Hall of Fame candidates, and since Doug Flutie only recently retired from pro football, he probably didn't make the list of candidates to be submitted for evaluation for 2007 CFL Hall of Fame candidacy. It does make sense before a player is officially retired from pro football before he is inducted into the Hall of Fame. Warren Moon left the CFL after 1983, but was only inducted into the CFL Hall of Fame in 2001 - a year after he retired from professional football.

Nice Robbie...

I stand corrected.

It would seem to boil down to case of politics.

Your right!
