In other words, members of the Football Reporters of Canada -- the print and broadcast media who decide the all-star teams and individual trophy winners at the end of the season -- differ markedly from the players.
The CFLPA all-star team is announced in February. The FRC's choices are announced in November, before and during the Grey Cup.
Maybe the guys on the field know something the people in the press box don't know.
Thanks, Mike, and welcome. I'm biased in favour of the media's choices too.

It may be that players haven't seen enough of Murphy or, as Tighthead suggested, are reluctant to vote for a first-year player over someone who has been around for years.

But why did Brian Clark get voted in ahead of Javy Glatt by both the CFLPA and the FRC?

You can see a listing of CFLPA All-Star teams of 2002, 2004, and 2005 at:

http://www.cflpa.com/index.php?module=page&id=5005

And here is their selection process:

Lastly, does anybody know if a player receives any kind of award for being selected to the CFL/CFLPA all-star team? Do they receive a trophy, certificate, cash, etc?

Cannot believe that there is any controversy with respect to Murphy's selection or non-selection. Anybody who has seen this guy play knows he's the real deal.

For players that may have "all-star selection" bonus clauses written into their contracts, would these be tied into the FRC's all-star selections or the CFLPA's?

IMHO, it's a "hasn't paid his dues yet" as Tighthead has suggested......first year player in the league won't get the same respect as a seasoned CFL veteran.

Ask Joe Montford what he thinks of Rob Murphy.

I thought they erred on Henry Burris at QB and Murphy not being included.

What is there to see that the fans can't...lol.
