If people are willing to pay for game jerseys, they'll pay for a Grey Cup ring.

Hmm -- from that middle photo I count 36 diamonds, or whatever they are: 22 along the circumference and 7 more to each side of the Cup. I was expecting 37, one for each point they scored. So why do you suppose 36 -- maybe the Cup itself counts as the 37th?
Sports can be a peculiar thing. When partaking in fiction, like a book or movie, we adopt a "Willing Suspension of Disbelief" for enjoyment's sake. There's a similar force at work in sports: "Willing Suspension of Rationality". If you doubt this, listen to any conversation between rival team fans. You even see it among fans of the same team. Fans argue over who's the better QB or goalie, and selectively cite stats that support their views while ignoring those that don't.

But seriously, another possibility -- maybe the league rosters were set at 36 players that year?

Here are two more pictures of their 1995 championship ring. In these pictures, the number of diamonds is not as apparent.

And apparently, they also received rings for being Eastern Division Champions in 1994. That was certainly small consolation for them after losing the Grey Cup to BC that year, but consolation nevertheless as very few teams ever got division championship rings.

I was surfing the net and I came across this blog. My ring was stolen from luggage along with some other Jewelry right after we won the Grey Cup in 1995. I have been in search of this ring for many years now, and obviously it has great sentimental value for me. Could you guys please help me. If anyone has any info regarding my ring, could you please notify me. After leaving the CFL, I enjoyed 6 good years in the NFL, but the 2 years that I spent in the CFL still remain as the highlight of my professional career.

Please help me. SharPourdanesh@aol.com

By the way......I would never sell my championship ring....the NFL did give me a decent salary. lol

That is an unfortunate incident, hope that you track the ring down. The rings are a representation of something that you have to earn, whoever took it from you has little of that let alone decency.
