Yes the streak is dead, but the Eskimos organization and their fans should hold their heads high...it was a great accomplishment.

They'll be back. Enjoy it while you can.

A strong comeback attempt by Ricky Ray and the Eskimos with a converted touchdown, but Byron Parker 75-yard interception return for a touchdown effectively sealed the deal to allow the Argos to take the game 28-25.

Damon Allen kills the playoff hopes of the team that started his great career where he won two Grey Cups.

The Edmonton Eskimos will miss the playoffs for the first time since 1971. Many of the fans at Commonwealth stadium left after the Parker interception. I did not observe them giving the team a standing ovation for their record setting 34-year playoff streak.

In the last 30 seasons, only three teams have missed the playoffs the year following a Grey Cup win:

1992 Toronto Argos
2002 Calgary Stampeders
2006 Edmonton Eskimos

The Eskimo fans have one more home game to express their appreciation to the organization for the 34 years of playoff appearances, or to express their frustration at the current coaching staff and players for breaking that streak.

Yee ha. This is one of the best days of my life. I hate that team SOOO much. For the record I called the Parker pick to my wife just before it happened. SWEET!

You mean (1972 - 2005).

They last missed the playoffs in 1971, meaning 1972 was when the 34-year streak started.

It was an amazing run and I know they will be back. Still a lot of talent on that team.

As a Lions fan.... I still feared them working their way back to the Western Final with plenty of momentum.

Have to way this off, as the game panel suggested, the Lions may of well wanted to see the eskimos make the playoffs, as the alternative is the Riders. Good thing that the Riders are going to meet our rented mule the Stamps first before hitting the WDF, if at all.

Eskimos are really a mess, their leaders are at the point of passing their best before date, and the young guns LaRose and Braidwood are the only real bright spots on the team for the near future. If ever they are going to need some major finds south of the border just to be competitive for next season.

Esks = Wicked Witch? :lol:

Ding Dong! The Witch is dead. Which old Witch? The Wicked Witch!
Ding Dong! The Wicked Witch is dead.
Wake up - sleepy head, rub your eyes, get out of bed.
Wake up, the Wicked Witch is dead. She's gone where the goblins go,
Below - below - below. Yo-ho, let's open up and sing and ring the bells out.
Ding Dong' the merry-oh, sing it high, sing it low.
Let them know
The Wicked Witch is dead!
