Editing posts before posting

My tablet is running android9. Why can't I edit a post to get rid of typos before posting?

I don't have experience with using this site on a tablet, but you could be having an issue with not being able to see all your options on the smaller screen. Posting on a smart phone has a similar impediment--it works best if there is no need to use the preview and edit functions. Try posting then use the edit button (looks like an eraser) that is above your post on the left hand side of the options. You have to be logged in to see and access it.
