i was not knocking jim evenson......... i am a huge lions fan and am surprised i'd never heard of him... some years before my time........... more like i was honoring him and pointing him out to others.... the all-time team selection seemingly is always going to be biased towards good teams and multiple players from those teams
there were a bunch of one-time and maybe one or two two-time all-west selections i'd never heard of FROM MY OWN TIME...

Easy choice. Bret Anderson.cms22 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 22, 2020 12:16 pm4) not a restriction but i think each team had an inspirational builder type player.. who would the lions be? (and the player is not one already on the main team)........ hebeler and passaglia seem great if they weren't already on team.... can't think of the obvious person beyond those 2.
Came across this juicy bit of trivia this morning. Heard jim Barker talking recently about how there were only ever 50 of the XFL rings made. Didn't want to start a separate thread.
Guard BOBBY SINGH is the only player to win professional football's version of the Triple Crown. Singh won a Super Bowl ring with the St. Louis Rams in 1999, an XFL Championship ring with the Los Angeles Xtreme in 2001 and a Grey Cup Championship with the British Columbia Lions in 2006.

I'll sneak in this article link regards one-time OL Rob Murphy chatting with J. Hodge of 3DownN. Back in the day I had my reservations about Murphy's character, but he was a very good player for us -- though he didn't make TSN's official list of All-Time Lions. I enjoyed this read, mainly because of his repeated praise for the player/teammate that Brent Johnson was. Rightly so. https://3downnation.com/2021/01/23/form ... -triplets/
Great read. Thanks for posting that article on Rob Murphy. I had no idea he missed the West Coast that much and wanted to return to the Den. He was a real character!
Does anyone recall him chirping the Edmonton player (who was from here) and his Dad, who spoke up for his son? There was a lot of trash-talking. I can't recall the player's name but he was also an MMA fighter and got into legal trouble.

Adam Braidwood from North Delta, who was released from the Eskimos in 2011 after being arrested with an unwilling passenger in the trunk of a car, among other alleged offences. He was also involved in an Edmonton boxing match in which his opponent suffered fatal injuries in 2017.
Thank you for refreshing my memory, B.C.FAN. Interesting read about Mr. Braidwood in a Macleans magazine article. Quite an interesting and sad journey.
