Just got the email from the club. Pursuing a business interest.aklawitter wrote: ↑Fri Jun 16, 2017 10:57 pmMoj/1040 is saying Jason Arakgi has announced his retirement
You're as old as you've ever been and as young as you're ever going to be.
He's accepting an offer in the medical services field, apparently. It's a bit of a shocker. He seemed to be playing as well as ever in camp but he is looking ahead to a post-football career. He has had a great career primarily as a special teamer. I wish him well in his new pursuit.Hambone wrote: ↑Fri Jun 16, 2017 11:12 pmJust got the email from the club. Darn, I always rooted for him. The personification of hard work and dedication.
Tell me how long must a fan be strong? Ans. Always.

Best wishes to Jason Arakgi.
Classy guy. Great in the community. Well spoken. Great on STs.
Nice to retire with the ST tackles record.

I was shocked by the news on the post game show. You have to grab it when opportunities knock. Thank you for your service Jason. I wish you well in your new career.

I echo all the above comments -- first shock and then (emotional) congratulations! He's one of those guys regards whom I can't find a negative thing to say. His play on the field, and his often sly playfulness when on camera for interviews -- though he was dead serious about his football duties... I just love these types of guys. Solid as heck. Boy, we've been so lucky to have him on the team for this past decade. Seems he's made another smart call with this 'life' decision. Thanks always! All the best.

Wow, that seemed to come out of nowhere. His place on the wall of honour should be guaranteed.

As I headed up the ramp out of BC Place a thought popped into my head - "I wonder if this will be Jason Arakgi's last season?" So weird that it came true so soon, but congratulations Jason. I'm glad you left on your own terms after a solid career. A true professional, and if it wasn't for the batman thing, a class act.
Wouldn't surprise me to see him become the new "Bret Anderson". You know, when the team gets hit by the injury bug Wally brings him in to help out for a game or three. Oh, wait, he's not a kicker...

In the Rider/Lions post game ball presentation Wally gives Arakgi the game ball and some sage advise to the players re: post football career:
