Hasn't happened in a long long time. At Montreal 4 games ago?CardiacKid wrote:A turnover by the D would make a world of difference in this game.

Longer quarter ?David wrote:Does anyone know why we wouldn't take the wind in the 4th quarter? Didn't we win the toss?

Stublers defensive backs are playing 12-15 yards off at times and we're still trying to throw deep intermediate and deep throws. No receivers running short patterns...which would be wide open.

Horrible they can't punch in from the 14. Jennings has looked confused going downfield all night.

Frustrating. You would think Khari Jones an ex-quarterback would know betterBlitz wrote:Stublers defensive backs are playing 12-15 yards off at times and we're still trying to throw deep intermediate and deep throws. No receivers running short patterns...which would be wide open.
Discussed on 1040. BC won the coin toss and deferred. It seemed clear the wind would be a factor, but Tor elected to receive the kickoff leaving BC to choose to take the wind in Q2 when you can run more plays what with the 3MW (and give it to Tor in Q1).SammyGreene wrote:why the hell do we go into the wind and kickoff to start the game? Dumb decision.
Having said all that, why didn't we take the wind again in Q4 when we had the chance instead of choosing to receive the kickoff? Tor will have the wind in Q4.
Sports can be a peculiar thing. When partaking in fiction, like a book or movie, we adopt a "Willing Suspension of Disbelief" for enjoyment's sake. There's a similar force at work in sports: "Willing Suspension of Rationality". If you doubt this, listen to any conversation between rival team fans. You even see it among fans of the same team. Fans argue over who's the better QB or goalie, and selectively cite stats that support their views while ignoring those that don't.
Especially when we took it in Q2 after Tor elected to receive. I don't get it. Maybe they wanted to establish some offensive momentum to start Q3 rather than allow Tor the opportunity?David wrote:Does anyone know why we wouldn't take the wind in the 4th quarter? Didn't we win the toss?

Exactly! Dont' blame it on Jennings. Give him a short route to throw. Can't believe a professional coach cant' see what the Argos are giving us and also taking away. Disgraceful!TheLionKing wrote:Frustrating. I wonder if this mid-season rule change of losing a timeout for a first failed challenge is making teams rethink when to use them. You now need to have one to mount your first challenge, which wasn't the case before.SammyGreene wrote:Thanks Wally. No chance for FG with your horrible clock management. Timeout never used. Inexcusable.

Another penalty gives Argos momentum
