Four years have passed and another Summer Olympic Games have arrived. Any thoughts and predictions? Any events you will be watching earnestly?

just football for me, specially the womens. Don't expect a medal for Canada, but are they fun to watch.

Actually, so far, seems like poor coverage in Canada. Bunch of NBC stations that I do not get. CBC did the womens game and doesn't look like anything else. Maybe better after Friday.
Every day that passes is one you can't get back

Impressive start for the Canadian women's soccer team with a 2-0 win over #5 ranked Australia. Even more impressive is that they were down one player for most of the game.

One of the most boring opening ceremonies I've seen. The irony of making a deal about the environment yet they are pouring raw sewage into the ocean.

Zika virus. Bad water for swimmers. Muggings. Room burglaries. Russian athletes banned for doping. Athletes choosing not to go. Other than that, a roaring success for the Olympic movement.

Whatever, we will watch a bit.
John Madden's Team Policies: Be on time. Pay attention. Play like hell on game day.

Jimmy Johnson's Game Keys: Protect the ball. Make plays.

Walter Payton's Advice to Kids: Play hard. Play fair. Have fun.

Canada wins it's first medal, a bronze in the 4x100 women's swim relay. If finally ended a 40 year drought in this event.

I see that tonight that somehow the entire Russian Para Olympic team has been banned at Rio. Like they somehow are more culpable than their non physically challenged brethren.
Total inconsistency and I am willing to bet the Russians spent a lot more time and energy rigging their non-para athletes performances than the other way around. Really have little use for the Olympic hierarchy.
Tell me how long must a fan be strong? Ans. Always.

Women's rugby 8 wins bronze by defeating Great Britain 33-10. Great Britain had previously beaten Canada in the preliminary round. Sweet revenge.

Another Bronze medal in the women's 4 x 200m freestyle relay. Just missed catching up to the Australians for the Silver.

4 medals for the 16 year old from Toronto, no Canadian had ever done that at the Summer Olympics
