Hmmmm ... Murphy is not wasting any time exercising his free agency opportunity. One wonders if negotiations have already commenced before they are allowed to.VANCOUVER/CKNW(AM980)

Reports have surfaced that former BC Lion and current Hamilton Tiger-Cat quarterback Casey Printers would be in town early next week to discuss a future with the Lions.
CKNW Sports have found those reports to be untrue. Printers agent Jason Medlock tells CKNW that his client remains in Houston on a training program and remains committed to Hamilton.
Things will get more complicated when Hamilton general manger Bob O’Billovich sits down with coach Marcel Bellefeuille on Monday.
The pair will start to put together a trade package for Winnipeg QB Kevin Glenn. Printers will not be part of that package, as his price is too high for the Bombers, and there are concerns about his effect in the dressing room.
Sources also tell CKNW Sports that Lions soon-to-be free agent offensive lineman Rob Murphy will be in Hamilton on Feburary 16 at a press conference to announce his signing on the opening day of CFL free agency.

It would seem O'Billovich is hoping to attract trade offers for Printers, which I do not think will be forthcoming. Eventually O'B will have to cut him loose. They don't want him as their starter, and they certainly cannot keep him as anything else with that salary.O'Billovich keeping hold on Printers
Ticat coach says he expects Casey to compete for No. 1 QB job
By Lowell Ullrich, The ProvinceJanuary 29, 2009
Those looking to fuel speculation of a possible return by Casey Printers to the Lions will not find Bob O'Billovich providing them any gasoline.
Not at the moment, anyway.
The general manager of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats said Wednesday he has not given Printers or his agent permission to shop his services as the CFL team debates internally whether to welcome him back for the upcoming season.
"We haven't made any decision [about Printers]," said O'Billovich. "We had a serious chat last season and he knows if he is to be here he will compete for the No. 1 job. If he doesn't, there's no way we're paying him the money he's getting now to be the No. 2 quarterback. None of that has been resolved."
With the fate of the quarterback and his projected 2009 salary of $425,000 still in limbo, there were suggestions raised that Printers had a date lined up with the Lions when Team 1040 reported Tuesday that he would be in Vancouver next week.
Lions coach Wally Buono spoke with O'Billovich Tuesday, not long after he restated the obvious and named Buck Pierce his starter this season. Buono touched off the latest round of speculation by suggesting he'd have to look elsewhere if Pierce somehow landed in the NFL in the next few weeks.
Thanks for your financial analysis. Unfortunately the situation is more complex than that.
First off, it's not Casey Printer's job to fly to Vancouver to yak with Buono.
That's the job of Casey's AGENT Jason Medlock who he pays big money to do that work.
If Casey thinks he can negotiate directly with Buono, all the more power to him and he can fire Medlock's ass.
The issue of "tampering" doesn't preclude a player from visiting with and yakking with another team's coach or GM. It does restrict what agents and other Player Personnel can do re formal negotiations or offers.
We all scared Casey away from visiting Vancouver for the Boat Show.
As for Kevin Glenn, there's already a trade package on the table from O'Billovich. Glenn is due some bonus money soon so he could be released.
If Buck Pierce gets signed by an NFL team and Kevin Glenn doesn't get traded to Hamilton and goes on the open market, we've got different dynamics.
Kevin Glenn to Vancouver?
As far as Casey visiting the Boat Show, both the Boat Show and Monster Trucks will be on 2 year hiatuses after this month due to construction at BC Place and each won't be back in the dome till February 2011.
Casey can visit us again for the Boat Show in February 2011.

Not only did I spit coffee all over my screen, but I p****d myself as well!!
Well done FD45; you are absolutely King of the Doufuses.
Well what's to stop Casey from showing up in late April when the serious renovations start?
He'll want to be there to check on the Roof, the new seating, the concourses, and of course all the new washrooms with gold plated sinks and toilets.
Casey will be in BC Place to sample the new food, the new beer, etc.
So let's not scare Casey away.
Casey, you're always welcome to visit our City!

I guess it's a good thing you still have your bunk beds in your mom's basement. Will Casey get the top bunk?
There was some question as to whether Aquilini's ownership lawsuit with the Canucks would go to the Supreme Court of Canada (SCC).
