The Arena the Pittsburgh Penguins are building will cost US $270 millon...the Arena the Seattle Sonics want is going to cost US $500 million according to Bennett. Why is there such a difference? are NBA Standards for Arena's higher than NHL?...you'd think they'd be the same?. It seems that if you don't have a luxurious Arena in the NBA then your team can threaten to move at any given moment.

How much longer will GM PLACE be NBA Acceptable?...maybe in a few years they would have to re model it if they were to get another shot at being an NBA City.

Probably all the extra earthquake-proofing that needs to be done for a Seattle building....

All they need to worry about in Pittsburgh is the supply of air fresheners.

It may be as simple as cost of labour and materials.

I was diong a search and found that the Ford Center in Oklahoma where the Hornets played last year and where the Supersonics may call home one day...cost $80 million to build...$80 million!!! thats not an expensive building compared to the ones being built today. Eventually it will have to be remodelled within 5 or 6 years the article said.

Has GM Place been completely paid off? Or is there still a mortgage on it?
