Eric Guthrie - The Canadian Rifle

Sad to learn that one of our Canadian quarterbacks and former Lions, Eric Guthrie passed away today (February 17, 2024) at 9:00am according to a post on Facebook. RIP.

Eric was a former Meriloma who went on to become a first-team All-Big Sky Conference at Boise State.

I remember Eric as a Punter, more than a QB.

Looks like he had one season in '76 as a starter QB.

I had a friend who was on the Eagle Keys coached Lions with the Canadian Rifle Eric Guthrie. He had a lot of funny stories about Eric. All were good.
