Bobby Ackles... benched?

VANCOUVER -- To honour the memory of Bob Ackles, the BC Lions Football Club recently purchased a park bench in remembrance of the late Lions president & CEO who passed away in July of this year.
The bench, located just off the main road in Bowen Island's Crippen Regional Park, looks out toward the marina and includes a plaque inscribed with the words 'be the best that you can be' - a phrase Bob followed closely throughout his life.

Great Jesture by the club
I have family over on Bowen and everytime I go thru Snug Cove I think of Bob ... now I'll have a place to sit and contemplate

Yeah, they mentioned it on the radio yesterday, so I looked up the story... radio mentioned the bench is at one of Bobby's favorite viewpoints, which is why it's placed where it is.

I was over on Bowen Island recently and took a couple of pictures of the bench. To find the bench when you get off the ferry it's about halfway up the hill on your right. Right across the street from the Bowmart were I'm sure Bob enjoyed Helen's breakfasts
