I believe Ambrosie and most league and team staff took a pay cut of at least 20%.
That was well documented. Ambrosie and CFL executive staff took a 20% cut starting last April. That was only a few weeks after everything went kaflooey with Covid.

The revised 14-game 2021 season is out.

The Lions open with two games on the road in Saskatchewan on Friday, Aug. 6 and Calgary on Thursday, Aug. 12.

The home opener is on Thursday, Aug. 19 against the newly renamed Edmonton Elks.

The Lions also close our the season with Friday night home games against Calgary and Edmonton on Nov. 12 and 19. Those teams come to B.C. Place twice. The Lions' other three home games are against Saskatchewan, Winnipeg and Ottawa.

Overall, there are four Friday home games, two Saturdays and one Thursday.

The full home schedule:

Thursday Aug. 19, 7 p.m. vs. Edmonton
Saturday, Sept. 11, 7 p.m. vs. Ottawa
Friday, Sept. 24, 7:30 p.m. vs. Saskatchewan
Friday, Oct. 1, 7 p.m. vs. Winnipeg
Saturday, Oct. 16, 4 p.m. vs. Calgary
Friday, Nov. 12, 7:30 p.m. vs. Calgary
Friday, Nov. 19, 7:30 p.m. vs. Edmonton

There's no word yet on how many spectators will be allowed but season ticket holders will get priority.

Playoffs will be on Sunday, Nov. 28 and Sunday, Dec. 5, with the Grey Cup on Sunday, Dec. 12 in Hamilton.

I realize this is a result of necessity, but it sure feels like the days before interlocking schedules. Only one East visitor (OTT on Sept 11, and it’s the back end of a home and home). The Lions trek out to OTT for one road game then have their first bye week Labour Day Weekend.

Then they have their only game vs MTL on the road. A big Week 12-14 road trip which includes their only games vs TOR and HAM. Sensibly, the Lions wrap up their season at home vs CGY and EDM (in the time frame when playoffs usually occur.)

The challenge for selling tickets is it will be more like putting non-preexisting ticket holders on a wait list until confirmation comes from health authorities as to allowed density.

Edit: noticed that each team has 2 byes and BC's second falls on Thanksgiving weekend. Posting is a challenge with the occasional time-out errors (and not even being able to see typing directly into the comment box). It's easier to do in a Word doc then copy and paste.

It is a weird schedule. BC plays 9 vs West and 5 vs East. The splits have BC playing 1 home game and 4 road games vs East and 6 home games and only 3 road games vs West. 2 out of the 3 road games vs West come in the 1st 2 weeks.

The home-field advantage against West rivals could help the Lions in the playoff race. I'd be happy to have fewer home games against Hamilton, Ottawa, Montreal and Toronto in a normal year if it meant extra home games against Saskatchewan or other West rivals. The East Division teams are poor draws.

I admit I didn't even look at the 2021 schedule that was released in November--I was so convinced (correctly, as it turns out) it was never gonna happen. From what I can see from B.C.FAN's comment, OTT has replaced MTL as the only East club we play twice.

I'm actually looking forward to using my 5 game credit (from back in Dec 2019). This will be a historic season (hopefully not the last one for the CFL as we know it).

How is the CFL competing with the NFL? There is ONE Sunday game scheduled for the entire season, and that is on August 29 before the NFL regular season begins.

Do you think people who would normally watch CFL games just decide to stop watching CFL on Thursday/Friday/Saturday because the NFL plays on Sunday?

CFL attendance and TV ratings generally go UP from Labour Day onward, exactly when the NFL is playing.

The Lions schedule is not as bad as others. Home opener on a Thursday night blows, but likely they will only be allowed to have a few thousand fans (if any) in attendance. So it won't hurt the gate.

I do wish the league would take into account seeding when deciding who your opponent is for a 3rd game. So instead of playing Calgary 3 times, we'd have 3 against Edmonton. But then, seeding from 2019 probably doesn't mean much anymore. Speaking of Edmonton... not sure why we have two home games and no road games against the Elks. I'll take it, but it seems unfair to Edmonton.

I can't understand how Ottawa can play Montreal 4 times but not play Winnipeg at all. Has the schedule maker not heard that Nichols and LaPolice are in Ottawa now? Also, if the Redblacks are only going to play the Lions once, why not schedule the game in Ottawa?

This year's schedule is what it is. When you lop off nearly 25% of the schedule, insist on maintaining the etched in stone Labour Day Classics and rematches and want to push games prior to Labour Day to western cities then weird things get put into the schedule.
