I'm a longtime season ticket holder who has no interest in adding my name to the Grey Cup Fan Base for $349 plus tax. I had previously pledged my season ticket money to subsidize a shortened 2020 season. No football, no money. The league let fans down by cancelling the season. I'll take a full credit for 2021 or whenever we next get to attend games.

wow, that's great on the free merchandise........

i have always liked some of the BC Lions polo golf shirts i've seen on the sidelines or on the internet....... but mostly i've only been able to find "product sold out" or "only small size left" on internet...... not sure which companies. reebok? adidas? both over time?
I don't know if Ric's Sports & Stuff in Chilliwack is still operating. It was a great place to get Lions' stuff as Ric is a huge fan. I was thinking about popping in there as I was fueling up next door to the mall on Friday. As the traffic was typically brutal eastbound out of Vancouver I was behind schedule. I still had another 7 hours to go so decided to hit the road. Sadly I'm not finding any website for Ric's now. He was dealing with some health issues a couple years back so he may have closed shop.
The last time that I stopped at Ric's store in that mall in Chilliwack, the store was closed down but I don't know it he moved or went out of business, but I suspect the latter.

MBT going to free agency is a big one. I liked what I saw from him last year. Like him better than Mike Reilly to be honest.

Believe most opt outs were one year deals with Ricky Collins being an exception. His deal requires him to go back to Edmonton if he doesn't make the NFL.

CFL didn't really come up with much on their own for the players but at least the options are clear. Seems the players agreement is still binding so maybe business as usual pending the 2021 season.
MBT???? You don't mean the sometimes starter Argo QB, do you?

Mike Reilly, while a bit past the peak of his career, is going to get consideration for the HoF when he retires; MBT????

Half the price, twice the value imo. Could be that I am the only one thinking that though.

I liked what the Argos did on O last year and thought MBT was a big part. I agree with your call on Reilly getting older.

Just think you could have Derel Walker and MBT for the price of Reilly with change left over. No disrespect to Caleb Holley.

I didn't agree with signing Reilly in 2019 for what he was paid (maybe the 2015 version, with a few years less hard mileage on him though would have been worth it). I doubt Wally would have signed him for that price if he had still been in charge of BC in 2019.

I agree 100%. I would have paid good money to Elemimian and others and got some other less expensive QB.

Chinese super league football on Premier Sports for anyone with access and interest.

Could be a potential Ricky Foley sighting.

Any rumblings yet on CFL players who might opt out of their contracts when that door opens on Monday?

https://www.tsn.ca/report-cfl-players-c ... -1.1512818
I just noticed that there's about half a dozen (and counting, no doubt -- not sure when the deadline is for players to decalre) players listed so far at 3DownN -- one being Lions' kicker Sergio Castillo. Another name of note is RedBlacks' Richie Leone.
In addition, Lions receiver Jevon Cottoy and lb/db Kenny Ladler have opted out, given the recent extension to the opt-out window.

Here's an updated list of players who have officially opted out of their contracts so far, according to cfl.ca. Four Lions on the list are K Sergio Castillo, WR Jevon Cottoy, LB/DB Kenny Ladler and DT Ryan Brown.

Love Travis but Hervey had to do something to get off the QB carousel that has hounded the Lions pretty much since Dickenson replaced Allen. Take away Dickenson's 1st year in BC and Lulay's 1st 3 years as starter and the position has been in a steady state of flux save for Jennings' flash in the pan season. Maybe one could add Printers' year but that was only possible due to Dickenson getting hurt. That's a decade of uncertainty in the Lions' most important position in the 15 years in between Allen and Reilly. It was expensive but something had to be done and the solution absolutely had to be something that could be sold on the market MBT? Hervey would have had an easier sell bringing back Jennings or going after Franklin.

The one thing about Lulay is he walked away healthy. He physically could have started the year last season. I consider him on the same level as Zach Collaros. The day it does happen no one will be surprised but there is no reason to say it will other than that it's football. That said, it was great that TL did walk away healthy and I'm guessing everyone wishes him the best.

Surprised about the lack of love for MBT after last year. Priced right is the #1 attraction for me. I could see him starting in Montreal and putting up big numbers again.

I think Trestman was right about who was better but the contracts dictated who played. Same boat the Argo's put themselves in again by signing Matt Nichols.

IMO MBT is just another NFL-style journeyman calibre pocket passer. Perhaps a taller version of Kevin Glenn. I won't deny he wound up with some decent numbers, especially against bottom feeding pass defenses in Ottawa, Montreal and in their first game vs BC. Already 32 he has 9 years of pro experience with 13 stops including 6 years bouncing around the NFL and Arena football before coming to the CFL in September 2016 for a 4 week look-see with Winnipeg. At this point I just don't see any upside to his game. I may be proven wrong but all I see is journeyman.

Same. ^^

Love MBT's arm but he strikes me as that NHL type who puts together a monster season right before he becomes a UFA. Is it sustainable? Not sure, but I don't see huge upside in him. As Hambone says, 'journeyman.' Why did the Argos pursue Matt Nichols as a FA if they thought MBT was the answer?

Don't get me wrong, there are parts to his game I really like. But he may be that guy that throws for 350 passing yards and an untimely INT at crunch time.
