However the schedules as we've had the last couple of years make it damned near impossible to come out of the chute with any momentum heading towards the 2nd half. And of course a lousy record going into the second means the fans who started out happy with the schedule for the post Labour Day home dates become unhappy because of the team's record. Maybe it's time to take one for the team and ask for a more balanced schedule. The one of the past couple of years is shooting the football team in the foot.
Totally agree. Giving the team the best competitive chance with a balanced schedule completely outweighs stacking the back half of the season with home games.
Lions need to remember playing just one home playoff game in the last 7 years is one of the reasons the crowds are where they are now.

Besides, aren't they actually helping out the prairie teams that rather play more home games in the warmer weather for bigger crowds?

The Vancouver Whitecaps schedule has just been released, and it appears to be as friendly as can be to the Lions. Like the Lions, the Whitecaps will play most of their home games on Saturdays, all of them when the Lions are off or away. There are no weekends when both teams are at home. All combined home games are at least six days apart. The only exceptions could be for midweek 2020 Canadian Championship matches either before or after the Lions' July 11 home game against Ottawa, just after the Lions' Aug. 15 game against Calgary and the final (if the Caps make it that far) either just after the Lions' Sept. 12 game against Toronto or just before their their Sept. 26 game against Saskatchewan.

Lions and Caps should be able to easily co-exist in the same venue. Both play a schedule that amounts to 1 home game every 2nd week.

Noticed the Lions only play Edmonton twice this year and that both games come in the first three weeks. 0 - 2 will not be good and could be the playoffs right there. On the other hand putting Edmonton down by 4 points early could be a real confidence builder.

Not a fan of the two games so close together when the chance of a key injury at a bad time can put the team in a tough spot. Overall the schedule seems pretty good.

So the NBA is suspending their season, the NHL might follow suit very soon too. We're still a couple months away from the CFL season but you have to wonder where things stand with this. For now, it's apparently business as usual, but I wonder if the combine could be canceled this year.

CFL regional combines are going ahead as scheduled beginning Thursday in Toronto.

According to Farhan Lalji, looks like these are now canceled.

The CFL confirms that regional and national combines and related media events are cancelled, as well as club free-agent camps and Randy Ambrosie’s road trip event in Halifax.
