The Collaros story (prior to what happened this year and yesterday) would never be considered as a serious story for a book or a movie as it'd sound too ridiculous.

Pretty much everyone including EVERY poster here IIRC had said Zach's done and while a comeback story line can be good in a book or movie, it normally has to be accompanied by a story of practice and hardship and setbacks. Zach had none of that part after SASK, as he pretty much sat around watching the Argos practice even after being cleared to play. He had a week of practice won a game for the Bombers and a bye week IIRC to win the 2nd game - but how is that struggle, hardship and setbacks as most players probably went home lol.

I don't recall anyone saying when he was traded from SASK to TOR that this made any sense and after not playing a down there traded to WPG who were in the hunt for a GC but hurting at QB due to injuries.

While the Bombers have to be underdogs after how the Ticats played, they still have a chance for Zach to do the improbable and win a GC having played only enough games to count on one hand.

While the Blue Bombers have played against the Tiger-Cats in the Grey Cup several times in the past, it will be first time in 35 years since 1984.

What do you remember about the 1984 Grey Cup as well as that time in November 1984?

The Tiger-Cats jumped to early 17-3 lead, but then after that it was all Blue Bombers with a 47-17 win, which coincidentally was played 35 years ago today on November 18, 1984. With the Lions eliminated in the 1984 WDF, most in Vancouver were probably not watching the Grey Cup and instead, were inside BC Place to see Michael Jackson and his Jackson 5 group perform the last of three concerts.

Winnipeg was a strong team with wins in 1984, 1988, and 1990 won mostly by a strong defence while their QB was a game manager in the latter two, but has gone 0-5 since then in Grey Cup appearances all as the east division representative. Hamilton hasn't won since 1999 and is 0-2 in GC appearances.

That GC was almost a sure thing for the Bombers IIRC as they had a top team.

The Wiki read is pretty good here.

Forgot Hufnagel was with the Bombers as backup QB and tossed a 4 yd TD pass.

Also how Tom Clements (MVP ) and Dieter Brock had just the prior season got traded for each other with TC coming to the Bombers.
