Lions are coming off a heartbreaking loss and have a short week to prepare. They go into a hostile environment and play the best team in the league. Plus Reilly is hurt and likely will play on a sore ankle limiting his mobility.

This is a no brainer, Bombers will win by at least 10 points. Lions will fall to 1 and 8 and will have their worst start since who knows when?

Bombers are the best team in the league. Lions are a tire fire. I'll go with the Bombers on this one.

With the short turnaround, I'd be concerned that Reilly will be able to play--he looked to be in a lot of discomfort. No way they can win if O'Brien starts at QB. These are the consequences of not having a capable backup (which most other teams do have).

Correction guys. Sorry to chime in.

Bombers are tied with Hamilton for the best "record" in the league. Best team in the league is decided at the end of the year.

Bombers are very beatable. Their weak secondary might be just what Reilly needs to get this turned around.

Special teams kick coverage needs to limit Bomber returners and the D needs to contain Andrew Harris? That's pretty well the secret, most know that already.

Tough loss yesterday and not an easy road ahead with the short week but every journey begins with one step.

Any bets on Reilly not playing? Seems like they would have to chain him to a post to keep him away.

Enjoy reading the forum. You have a great group of knowledgeable posters. Nice to see compared to the alternatives. Good luck with your team.

MIke O'Shea a former special teams coach is relishing the prospect of facing the Lions' inept special teams. He'll have some trick plays prepared.

Motivation likely not to be an issue for the Lions but maybe playing a clip of Jeff Hecht doing the chicken dance in DC's face might add some gas to the fire.

Hecht has 12 tackles through 7 games. Not really in a position to be flapping his arms or his mouth. Would love to see him burned and then hear what he has to say.

Seriously? I know anything can happen in the CFL but I would only take the Lions if the odds were astronomical and the casino game me a free $20.00 to bet on the game.
Tell me how long must a fan be strong? Ans. Always.

I think that the negative predictions are warranted, but I think we have a shot to win this game.

We are slowly adding pieces and I think we made big strides last game. Hamilton is tied for the best record in the league, and we "should have" beat them. I am optimistic this wasn't a one off game for our offense and hopefully they continue to click. If our new look offensive line can continue to progress and give some time, I think we can put up some points. We have seen flashes, now we just need consistency. If they play the same way against Winnipeg as they did against Hamilton, I see good things.

I am not as optimistic about our defense at this point. Hopefully Lemon adds that pass rush we need because the key to any successful defense starts in the trenches. Pressure on the QB would assist with our defense in exponential ways.

I know this year might be a wash due to our horrible start, but I am hoping we continue to add parts and build some momentum in the back half of the season. Rome wasn't built in a day, we had a lot of turnover and a completely new coaching staff... I think that if the team continues to build, next year could be a big year.

As always, I know I remain an optimist about this team... but I don't think we are terribly far off. First you lose big, then you lose small, then you win small, then you win big. Hopefully we are passing the "lose small" portion and getting to the winning part soon.

The CFL writers made their picks. I agree this will be very tough game to win. If Lions made it competitive and winner in doubt till 4th I will be happy. But it could be another blowout..

BC at WPG

To open up the week, we get a showdown between the first- and last-place teams in the standings.

Winnipeg and BC met up in the opening game of the 2019 season in BC, where Winnipeg took the contest by a 33-23 scoreline. Andrew Harris rumbled for 148 yards while Bryan Burnham had 156 receiving yards on five catches.

In the Lions’ last game against Hamilton, Burnham had 149 yards and two scores on seven catches. Mike Reilly also went 21 of 28 for 306 yards and two touchdowns.

Harris had his fourth 100-plus yard rushing performance of the season against Calgary in Week 9. The Bombers’ offence wasn’t as efficient as we’ve seen in the past, but Janarion Grant took a pair of punts back to the house to help them to victory.

BC knows that they could have a very different record if not for a few small mistakes. Avoiding 1-8 will be difficult, but if they play as they did against Hamilton, they’ll have a shot.
