Some questions.

Will we run the ball at least 20 times?

If the game is out of hand, will Reilly allow O'Brien to take some reps? Is that Claybrooks' decision? Oh, I see.

Will our pass protection keep the sacks under 5?

Will we get 2 or more sacks?

Will we keep Calgary's rushing yardage under 100?

Will we keep BLM's passing yardage under 300?

Will our team show motivation, spirit, compete-level and work habits?

Without those you have nothing, imo.

All evidence to date suggests just one answer to all of the above questions as I don't expect things to get turned around all that quickly.

I will be happy if the Lions are still in the game at the half.

My hope is that the Eskimo game is the low point of the season.... a game where everything seemed to go wrong over and over again.... I'm OK with an 0-3 start, so long as there is some improvement in blocking and handling the Stamps D-rush. Having blocking that gets our RB past the LOS will be a sign of improvement. Having the Right Tackle take big steps backwards and stay with his blocks during the pass protection will be a sign of improvement.

I'm not expecting to have much improvement in our D-line rush and will be looking at the LB's and safety to have an improved game.

If we lose to Calgary but those improvements happen, I'll be a happy camper because the loss will set us up well to have success in our next game.

In a way, with all the changes that have happened, the first 3-4 games are like having an extended pre-season, trying to see if the players that you had hopes for in TC actually are good in "real" games or are needing to be sent packing.

I do expect the sun to rise in the east on Sunday....

The Lions will be significantly better this game but so will Calgary.

Matt with DeVone, who is focusing on the process, as we prepare for Calgary.
