Speaking of the stadium capacity issue, we all know that the Alouettes move into Olympic Stadium for their playoff games and the Grey Cup if they are hosting it. But I wonder if the GC organizers in Montreal have considered using 20,202 seat Percival Molson Memorial Stadium for the Grey Cup?

On a different note, the recent Super Bowl brings back memories of the 1982 Grey Cup in CNE Stadium, dubbed the Rain Bowl. That rainsoaked game provided the inspiration to build Rogers Centre.

ummmm......why would they consider using 20,202Percival Molson when they have a 65,000 seat facility available? Can you say $600 to $700/seat to generate the same revenue?

The 1967 game, played on December 31, 1967 at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin, remains one of the coldest NFL games on record. It's been discussed before that bigger may not necessarily be better and outdoor stadiums have been temporarily expanded for capacity. Since it can be said that mother nature should be a part of football games, why not get creative and see a possible duplicate of the mud, ice, snow, or rain cups? :lol:

One problem. Molson cannot be temporarily expanded. It sits on a hillside with part of the stadium being enclosed by McGill University buildings. They are planning to add 5000 permanent seats and realistically given where the stadium sits an additional permanent structure with foundations etc is the only way.
