You must mean that Lions team as that play was not rare in the 1960s at all. Rare today.

While we all remember his 13 yard scamper for a first down in the 1985 Grey Cup, let's not forget the other successful risks Lui Passaglia took in the other playoff games. In the 1977 playoffs, he completed is 1 pass attempt for 31 yards and in the 1979 playoffs, he also attempted his 1 pass attempt for 20 yards.

J . Clermont has a strong arm. Watched him throwing some beautiful passes hitting geroy in full flight deep down the sideline during training camp about 3 years ago. I believe he was listed as the number 3 guy once or twice since hes been here due to injury.

Okay, did anybody see him make any passes at training camp? It would be exciting to see the Lions execute the halfback option play.

Lions don't seem to fans of the trick play. Don Mathews maybe, DD and Wally not so much.

You are right and I know I have heard Wally tell the media he feels the percentages for success are far too low for trick plays so he is not a fan. I think you should have them in your trick bag to be used only sparingly. All teams have something up their sleeves for special occasions that could be considered trick plays but some will be more frequent flyers than others.

Players love the trick plays as it is exciting and fun.

Antwaan Randle El did it again on Sunday's game when he passed for a touchdown, this time as a Washington Redskin.

There was a real ugly TD pass by a non-QB passer in the Monday Nighter. It was a floater but the ball was caught in the right side of the endzone by a Viking.

While not a half back option, Paul McCallum has passed the ball twice this year on third downs with tremendous results. Two for two with 53 yards.

It's been a long time, but good to see WR Duron Carter complete such a play with a 67-yard TD pass to Shaquille Johnson today.

This isn't Carter's first long bomb this season - it's his second.
