The only difference is that the city of Boston did not have a riot after the loss.

But ironically, the city of Montreal had a celebration riot over the Bruins loss:

BTW, The Beaverton is Canada's version of The Onion--they do try to make Canadian themed news parody (some attempts are better than others).

There was a mini-riot in TO last night after the Raptors win--though there are conflicting reports of how much (no fooling).

I agree with Robbie. Watching that game also made me think back to Game 7 in 2011. The Canucks could not get anything going even though they outshot the Bruins 37-21.

Last night the Boston home fans got a taste of their own medicine--it was deathly quiet in there. Marchand was crying in the dressing room interview after the game. As Don Cherry said, his careless line change caused the goal that made them lose all momentum--after they spent most of the time dominating play with nothing to show for it.

I was in Hong Kong during the 2011 riot here and I was reading posts on a Van soccer site where local senior mens players on their way to the game were saying at 5:30 on that the crowds near there looked like serious trouble coming up later. These 20-30 year olds were saying it looked bad and they were on the way to the game!

Congratulations to Canucks centre Elias Pettersson for winning the Calder Memorial Trophy as Rookie of the Year. :good:

Only the second ;canucks: to win the award after Pavel Bure in 1992.

At the draft, the Canucks (somewhat surprisingly) use their 10th pick for winger Vasily Podkolzin. He had to speak through an interpreter and is contractually required to stay in Russia for two seasons. Considering the Nikita Tryamkin misadventure (but there is a chance he might end up returning) there is an element of risk involved with this pick.

Today they made two deals on the draft floor to get J.T. Miller and Francis Perron.

Miller is not worth giving up a 1st round pick.
