For what it's worth. The Canucks will be heading into a new era without the Sedins. So far, not a good pre-season record.

So far, so good as the ;canucks: start off the season with a 5-2 win over the Flames. Let this good performance continue. :cr:

Somewhat expected, but the Canucks will retire the Sedins' #22 and #33.

not to mention the outrage many feel that Florida defenceman Mike Matheson gets only a 2 game suspension and zero payback on the ice. (But that will probably come his way the next time they meet January 13th).

Any of you going to Rogers Arena tonight to see a rematch of 2011 finals?

Aside from Whitecaps vs. Sounders, there will now be another rivalry between Vancouver and Seattle in that an NHL team has been awarded for Seattle to begin in 2021-2022.

The Grizzlies vs. SuperSonics wasn't much of a rivalry at all with one team much more dominant and eventually both teams leaving their respective cities. I imagine this will be a much bigger rivalry.

This is definitely a first that I've heard about before in professional sports. It's one thing to wear a retro and throwback jersey uniform. But NOT wearing such a uniform if that team was based in another city in its franchise history. But that's what the Carolina Hurricanes decided to by wearing the vintage uniforms of the Hartford Whalers in a recent game.

It looks like old Whalers' fans were not happy about that.

Will this start a trend?

Colorado Avalanche wearing uniforms of Quebec Nordiques?
New Jersey Devils wearing uniforms of Colorado Rockies?
Arizona Coyotes wearing uniforms of their first Winnipeg Jets?
Dallas Stars wearing the uniforms of Minnesota North Stars?

In the NBA, Memphis Grizzlies and Oklahoma Thunder wearing the respective jerseys of Vancouver Grizzlies and Seattle Supersonics?

Finally, how about the Montreal Alouettes wearing the jerseys of the Baltimore Stallions in honour of their ancestors?

If there's any good aspects about hockey in Vancouver for 2019:

#1. Elias Pettersson has been named as a finalist of the Calder trophy for rookie of the year.

#2. The Giants have advanced to the WHL finals for the first time since 2007.

2019 Stanley Cup final: St. Louis Blues vs. Boston Bruins

The city of Boston certain has a lot of success recently with its local sports with the Red Sox winning late last year, the Patriots winning earlier this year, and the Bruins in final. The Celtics have been eliminated, though.

This will be a rematch of the 1970 final which featured Bobby Orr's historical OT goal.

It's going to be a best of 3 series now. Any predictions or favourites?

No prediction, but I'd like to see STL win (even though it means another team leaves the Canucks behind in the Halford and Brough "sad club" ). Going from last place overall at the end of the year to a chance to win it all, with a rookie goalie is a great story.

The thing I most enjoy watching the Blues home games is the overhead shot of the center ice faceoff circle with their logo. They are long-suffering fans and deserve to break the drought (and the New England-Boston area has racked up enough Championships in the past 18 years.)

Would like the Blues to win but I think Boston will prevail.
