Denis Shapovalov, 18 y/o Canadian, defeats Rafael Nadal

Wow. Happened to catch the end of this match live. Wow. The Kid can play. Great serve. Fast around the court. Hellacious forehand. Good backhand. Needs work on volleys.

Nadal played well too, but was a bit tight, whereas he is rarely the one who gets tight.

Raonic and Bouchard have led the way for Canadian tennis, and now, with a youngster like this, it may be happening.

For Canadian sports fans, I would like to see a similar burst in golf. I thought we might be starting with Mike Weir back in the day. Not quite.

Golf, as someone said, is a good walk spoiled.

Golf as a TV sport? Nice.

Curling as a TV sport? Nice.
