Given Pratt's dismal record of predictions, this is a kiss of death for the Leafs.

NYR 5 TB 1 in game 4 of East Final. Series tied 2-2 going back to NY on Sunday.

Good bounce-back game for Lundqvist: 38-39 saves-shots .974 SV%, while Bishop had an off-night: 19-24 .792 SV%.

2 PPG in the 3rd period by St. Louis and Nash put the game out of reach.

St. Louis finally scores a goal in this year's playoffs which is an encouraging sign for the Rangers.

Anaheim scored 3 goals in a span of 37 seconds in the 3rd period to take the lead but couldn't hold on as the Black Hawks came back to tie the game sending it into overtime. Antoine Vermette won it for Chicago in double overtime. Series is now tied at 2 heading back to Anaheim.

Tampa Bay shuts out New York in game 5 2-0 to take a 3-2 series lead. One more win and the Lightning is headed to the Stanley Cup.

I guarantee a Rangers victory to send the game to a Game 7 where the Rangers win!

Unlike Dennis Skulsky's guarantee:

a. I don't have to back it up (as I'm not betting on the outcome.
b. I'm not creating bulletin board material for Tampa.

I'd like to see Vigneault get a W and a Stanley cup to follow.

The concern for the Rangers is that they were beaten at their own game last night. Tight defensive play, but Bishop was just a bit better than Lundqvist. It was like the Holtby SO in game 3 of the WSH series.

Home ice hasn't proven to be a consistent advantage, so anything is possible at Tampa Bay tomorrow.

Anaheim with just 2:00 left in game 5 looked to be home and cooled with a 4-2 lead, poised to take a 3-2 series lead over Chicago.

That is until Jonathan Toews (who else?) clutched up with a pair of goals 72 seconds apart in the final 1:50 — both scored with an extra attacker — to tie the affair. The second one was a bit of a softie, scored on a sharp angle wrist shot from the boards and almost on the goal line to the right of Ducks goalie Frederik Andersen.

This one is headed to OT. Will be demoralising for Ana if Chi takes this one.

Edit: a short OT as Anaheim prevails, with Matt Beleskey burying a Corey Crawford rebound on a 2-on-1 just 45 seconds into the extra frame. Anaheim takes a deep breath and a 3-2 series lead. One win from a SCF berth.

Sports can be a peculiar thing. When partaking in fiction, like a book or movie, we adopt a "Willing Suspension of Disbelief" for enjoyment's sake. There's a similar force at work in sports: "Willing Suspension of Rationality". If you doubt this, listen to any conversation between rival team fans. You even see it among fans of the same team. Fans argue over who's the better QB or goalie, and selectively cite stats that support their views while ignoring those that don't.

Can Chicago complete the epic comeback ? At one point, they trailed by 3 goals.

Well, that didn't take long to settle. 45 seconds in and Anaheim scores the winner.

This CHI-ANA series has been interesting because of the brief bursts of offense (or terrible defensive lapses, depending on what you look for) from both teams.
In the first period ANA had 11 shots on goal and 3 EV goals before CHI got their first shot. So it isn't all Crawford's fault, but he has been very average for a lot of these playoffs. The 3 goals in 37 seconds in game 4 was also a combo of poor defense and goaltending.
Advantage Ducks, and not just because they lead the series 3-2. The fatigue of a short-staffed CHI D is showing.

Great series. Toews is truly incredible, as he has been throughout his career. He makes magic happen, especially in the clutch. For my money, he might be the best player in hockey. He must be the strongest skater in the league. He just glides, and is so strong on his skates. The best along the boards, and in protecting the puck. Great instincts.

But I am rooting for the Ducks.

Keith is also incredible. He never seems to tire. Seabrook looked out of gas at times, but still played heavy minutes.

The Ducks size on the forecheck is a huge plus for them. Kesler is very, very effective. Getzlaf and Perry are about as good as it "getz" at forward.

IMO Quenneville should be concerned about his health. I believe he has had a health scare in the past. He just looks too intense.
John Madden's Team Policies: Be on time. Pay attention. Play like hell on game day.

Jimmy Johnson's Game Keys: Protect the ball. Make plays.

Walter Payton's Advice to Kids: Play hard. Play fair. Have fun.
