An internet sensation could be on the verge of a lucrative NFL contract as a kicker after a YouTube clip he made of spectacular trick shots has been watched almost a million times.

The video shows the 27-year-old performing some outrageous tricks and kicks, from nailing 60-yard field goals to soccer-style scissor kicks and volleys with American footballs.

The video caught the attention of professional teams in the United States and won its star, Norwegian Havard Rugland, a tryout for the New York Jets.

One thing to be doing tricks another to be kicking under a rush. Time will tell whether he's legit.

Very true. It can be like my HS football situation where in the summer my friends kept saying this new guy had QB locked down. We used to play touch with this guy and he was also coming to play. He lasted about half the first practice - couldn't take the hits and didn't understand the offense but he could toss a nice pass with 4 man touch.

We had a tackle (230 pound guy) who could toss a pass 50 yards so I convinced the coach to use him on a direct snap play. In practice he was fine. But in the few times in a game we used it was more like an Iraqi scud. It'd go the distance expected - you just didn't know where it was coming down.

Unlike say a Paul Dolan who IIRC correctly did kick a few for the Lions I think - this guy is kicking a football -not a soccer ball.

He is training in San Diego now. Those kicks unless a fixed video look pretty awesome.

An update.

What I can't find is how this guy is in terms of accuracy.
