Re: Lions 29 Ottawa 5 Post Game Thread
good game.... of course, you could say we found a team worse than us :) no one wanted us to finish 1-17 as it might kill the franchise. but if we finish 5-13 (50% win % rest of way) i wonder if it might give hervey confidence in his plan and progress. i think hervey's stewardship has been awful........

Re: Chuba Hubbard from Edmonton for the Heisman
it is an amazing heisman year.......... pretty much little doubt that hurts/tua/lawrence will have the wins and the stats. many years players come out of nowhere (i.e. chuba) and win it as the QB's falter.
i know few TB's win the heisman these days. esp. non-alabama TB's

Chuba Hubbard from Edmonton for the Heisman
thought i'd post this as it'll be fun to watch.......... if not for hurts/tua/lawrence being so dominant QB's, i think hubbard would have reasonable heisman shot. he is a redshirt sophomore tailback from edmonton who plays for oklahoma state....... i often bemoan that canadian kids would get more sc...

Re: Mike Reilly
i could not agree with OP more. mike reilly will not be a top QB (if he even is now) by the time the lions are a good team. i question whether mike reilly is a top QB today, stats notwithstanding. would people really describe tom brady or patrick mahomes as a top NFL QB if their teams were 2-10. i t...

Re: Lions at Montreal Sept 6, 2019 - Post-game stats and thoughts
this repitition from my long comment but here goes, our front 7 seems very shaky and will need a major overhaul....... what do people think of our DB's? every other unit on the team, i think i have a good feel but not that one. had a good chuckle. was that dom termansen snuffing out our reverse on a...

Re: Lions at Montreal Sept 6, 2019 - Post-game stats and thoughts
that game was ok, but of course it's a 1-10 team so it's very frustrating. a few thoughts on the game and a few on the outlook for the future. haven't seen/heard it mentioned anywhere so far, but i thought an absolute killer play was in 2nd half when montreal had a second and longish, swung it out t...

Re: If Lions Sold Before Season's End will New Owners
Geroy = new GM. Lulay expanded role. maybe OC. bring back Wally in some part-time but important capacity.
don't laugh, but if we get common WC and Lions ownership down the road, maybe bob lenarduzzi in marketing.
as you can tell, i think this team needs more local flavor.

Re: If Lions Sold Before Season's End will New Owners
some interesting ideas in this thread and others... i look at our sacks given up and i think it's on alot of different people, including mike reilly. obviouis JJ and the offensive line being largest factors. i watched florida-miami last night. very sloppy game...... anyway, Miami QB was running for ...

Re: Hamilton at B.C. Aug. 24, 2019 - Post Game Thread
just to add to last point, winnipeg was already like a mouse on a spinning wheel when oshea was hired. not true of hervey and esp. claybrooks. one impressive thing about winnipeg is they lost three canadian all-cfl players this off-season and are still the best team in the league.... not they are a ...

Re: Hamilton at B.C. Aug. 24, 2019 - Post Game Thread
i think the mike o'shea situation in winnipeg has been constantly misconstrued on this forum. winnipeg was a really terrible situation. much worse than current lions on-field situation. think years of this season's performance (and bear in mind that BC should probably have a win or two more than the...

Re: Hamilton at B.C. Aug. 24, 2019 - Post Game Thread
Belize City, thx very much.. i was aware of that due to earlier debates about it on here... i was thinking next season. i think given how lost this team is that they need to spend $$$$$ on what i'd call preferential young free agents. get the best USA prospects at some key positions. i have no idea ...

Re: Hamilton at B.C. Aug. 24, 2019 - Post Game Thread
how do things work with contracts in the CFL? frankly, i think alot of the money we are playing high profile veterans (and sukh chung) could be better spent on younger players next year.......... i think the problems are so deep that i would get rid of almost every high paid veteran. even bryan burn...

Re: Hamilton at B.C. Aug. 24, 2019 - Post Game Thread
on the sacks, i believe this is our tally so far this season,
opponents sacks: 43
lions sacks: 11
how can that be? but i checked it during the game and added the games sacks to the season total.

Re: Hamilton at B.C. Aug. 24, 2019 - Post Game Thread
only saw about half the game tonight.....
a couple of things jump out from the stats.........
we gave up 7 sacks.......... had 1 sack ourselves.
so many penalties on special teams. i believe 8 penalties. think of that.

Re: Riders 38 - Lions 25 -- Post Game Comments
i really dislike duron carter and don't think we should have picked him up. i think he is a cancer.
but for those questioning his actual production, he is #2 in the CFL in # of receptions... has a game on a bunch of players but still that's alot of catches.
