Re: Who Will Win: Lions or Tiger Cats
David's O-line Figueroa - LT Steward - LG (Foucault back-up) Norman - C Chungh - LG Renfrow - RG (Boyko back-up...although I would prefer Knevel there) I agree with most, but I thought Roy or Pierson played well enough to start at center. I didn't see the Renfrow trade so yes it does make sense that...

Re: Who Will Win: Lions or Tiger Cats
Ever the optimist, I vote for a Lions' win. The bye has given the team time to let the knicks and bruises heal. I anticipate that they have come together more as a team because in the weekly fray of playing and being criticized for poor team play, players and coaches don't have the time to step back...

Re: BC Lions vs. Edmonton July 11, 2019 - Game Day Thread
I would like to see a few things that could really improve our chances. I want to see the O-line dominate with a run game that was non-existent in the first meeting. Also on offence, I want to see more of Cottey. I sense that he is a game-changer. Yes, he is a raw talent but he won't improve without...

Re: New Rule Change effective immediately
If the CFL wants to send a message to all the players about dirty hits, then they can not let this hit by Lawrence slip by with a "slap on the wrist." Let's bring respectability and safety forward. Goodbye Simoni Lawrence.

I went to Rideau High School for one year and Russ Jackson was my math teacher. He didn't put up with any BS. I transferred to Ridgemont High School the next year. I think he was head of the math department. After football, he went back into teaching full time - I think he became a principal of an O...

Re: 2019 training camp
I haven't commented in a long long time - but I must say first a huge thank you to those Lionbackers who are reporting the daily goings on at training camp. Your posts are always filled with interesting details and observations. Again, thanks. The discussion around driving to Lions games brought bac...

Looks like TJ Lee and Burnham are back in the pride. As for the O-line? You have Figueroa at left tackle, sign Stewart and Husband, move Vaillancourt into right guard, let Olefoye go and try Foucault at right tackle.

Most of Bellichick's losses (41-55) came as head coach of a woeful Cleveland Browns team that moved after his last year as coach.

Re: Winnipeg vs. Saskatchewan Western Semi-Final
The NCAA targeting rule includes more than leading with the crown or helmet in making a tackle. It also includes launching oneself at a defenseless player - crouching and then driving up into a defenseless player with feet still in contact with the ground and also blows to the head by a shoulder, fo...

Re: Calgary 26 - BC 9, Post-Game Stats and Comments
On the clever ST play - I think it was run out of frustration on the part of Reinbold. All year his style has been shelved in favor of Mr. Buono's run it up the gut school of special teams. I am sure he has other schemes as well. Last play of the season, try and show the boss what could take place i...

Re: Semi-Final Games, November 11, 2018
November 11, 1918, the First World War ended. Over 61,00 Canadians died in that war with over 172,000 seriously wounded. November 11 became a day in which the young country of Canada could remember the lives and deaths of those young men who went to war - a good or a bad war depending on historical ...

I wonder where the money collected as fines for concussion-related hits goes? I hope it is passed along to a reputable school of medicine doing research into concussions etc and not into the league coffers.

Re: Players Awards at the half-way point of the season
I find the categories a bit strange. There is an "Outstanding Defensive Player" but no specific category for "Outstanding Offensive Player." Only one position gets an Outstanding Player designation - lineman. Why is that? Is it because they usually get ignored in favor of the so-...
