Re: Stamps at Lions Oct. 16, 2021

The B.C. government has announced that capacity limits on indoor sporting events (as well as concerts, movie theatres, dance and symphony performances) will be lifted on Oct. 25, so the Lions can sell tickets for the entire lower bowl of B.C Place for their final two home games and any playoffs, if...

I don't have experience with using this site on a tablet, but you could be having an issue with not being able to see all your options on the smaller screen. Posting on a smart phone has a similar impediment--it works best if there is no need to use the preview and edit functions. Try posting then u...

Re: Chris Cuthbert leaves TSN for Sportsnet

https://3downnation.com/2021/10/17/former-tsn-broadcaster-rod-black-a-victim-of-bell-media-cutbacks/ Explains that Rod Black was going to be let go by TSN. One early "victim" of Bell cutbacks, who ended up coming back is Blake Price. He's been doing MLS on TSN WhiteCaps. I think he could e...

Re: Stamps at Lions Oct. 16, 2021

The O-line was not the problem this game. The Stamps didn’t get a sack the end of the third quarter. Reilly took two more in the fourth quarter when he also threw his two interceptions on long outs before finally being pulled. He took way too long to pull the trigger, then didn’t have the arm to de...

Re: Stamps at Lions Oct. 16, 2021

Boos are raining down on Reilly Funny, but I didn't hear much at all. Fans in attendance were remarkably forgiving and restrained given the effort and score. Not sure if fans' expectations are so low now from years of mediocre product but it's like attending a Vancouver Canadians game. Home team wi...

Re: Stamps at Lions Oct. 16, 2021

Boos are raining down on Reilly Yes, that was significant. I was sitting next to a visiting younger CGY fan, and I actually found the game easier to watch. He's been a CFL fan since 2000, and (in between his frequent celebrations) it was interesting talking about our perspectives on the CFL game (w...

Rob Black leaves CTV and TSN

The next big move affecting CFL broadcasting:

There is already much rejoicing over on RF (a respite from their gloom of a 2 game losing streak vs CGY).

BC wins the season series with Calgary if they earn the split in the 2 remaining games.

In the meantime lets drop such discussion. Talking about playoff possibilities at this stage is what Rider fans do. ;)
Yes full meltdown mode is going on over on RF right now. :rotf:

Re: Blue Bombers at Lions Oct. 1, 2021

There have been many long passes where our receiver gets a step or two on the opposing DB and then has to slow up because Reilly's long throw turns into a jump ball. A 20 yard throw is at speed, but a 40 yard throw from Reilly has to have so much air, it can give time for the DB's to recover. Agree...

Re: Lions in the local media (REVIVED thread 6-10-20)

More local radio changes today impacting Lions coverage. Rintoul & Surman has been axed (also some shuffling in Toronto as Rogers becomes more Toronto-centric). The awkward Vancouver-Calgary show did have quite a bit of CFL--both BC & CGY focused). https://twitter.com/ScottRintoul/status/144...

Re: Roughriders at Lions, September 24, 2021

A lot of it has to do I think with the nature of the current wave and what happened with our neighbours to the East. I think that most are probably loathe to be the next administration to be seen as loosing up restrictions and looking like it has been mishandled. Exactly. The home opener with Dr He...

Re: Roughriders at Lions, September 24, 2021

Too much reliance on the big passing plays to carry the day (due to nothing else working on offense). In the end it looked like desperation jump ball into double coverage. Ed Gainey (just returned from injury to the Riders lineup) continues to be the Lion's nemesis. The Orange Shirt Day ceremonies w...
