Re: 2023-24 NFL/Seahawks Season Thread

That was just an incredible game last night wasn’t it, with the Seahawks pulling out the win on what has to be seen as a spectacular 92-yard drive with under 2 minutes left in the fourth quarter. It was Drew Lock's finest moment and demonstrated the offensive strength of the Seahawks with DK Metcalf...

Re: 2023-24 NFL/Seahawks Season Thread

Yes, I agree, Sir Purrcival. One part of their defense that has greatly underperformed this season has been their safety group. Jamal Adams has not had anywhere near the kind of season that was expected, and free safety Quandre Diggs seems to have lost his speed and ball-hawking effectiveness. In ad...

Re: 2023-24 NFL/Seahawks Season Thread

That was a bad loss. The Seahawks are now 6-4 and in serious danger of missing the playoffs. Had they won and gone to 7-3, I believe the odds of making the playoffs would have been quite high. But now, the picture looks much worse. They have just a brutal string of games coming up—the 49ers twice, t...

Re: 2023-24 NFL/Seahawks Season Thread

Another nail-biter when the Seahawks should have won easily against an inferior team who just traded away two of their better defensive linemen. Geno Smith wasn't great (although he was much better in the 2nd half), despite the late-game completions that set up the walk-off field goal for the win. H...

Re: 2023-24 NFL/Seahawks Season Thread

Geno Smith has not looked that good for much of the season. Even though Geno Smith has made a few mistakes, he has made several good offensive plays as well and it's for that reason the team is at 5-2 and first in the NFC West. As such, unless Geno Smith gets injured or becomes undisciplined like t...

Re: 2023-24 NFL/Seahawks Season Thread

[ I'm hoping that they trade for, or otherwise acquire, a top player before the trade deadline tomorrow at 4:00 p.m. ET. Seahawks trade 2 draft picks to NY Giants for star defensive end Leonard Williams. Yeah, just saw that, Robbie. They lose a 2nd-round pick in 2024, but with two 3rd-round picks, ...

Re: 2023-24 NFL/Seahawks Season Thread

An extremely scary and heartpounding win by the Seahawks over the Browns . After taking quick leads of 14-0 and 17-7 while forcing two turnovers, the Seahawks sounded like it's going to be an easy win after the first quarter. But after Seahawks defence being tricked several times as well as a coupl...

Re: 2023-24 NFL/Seahawks Season Thread

Here's an interesting and entertaining piece about Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll. Pete is considered one of the best head coaches in the NFL (ranked #5 out of the 32 in a recent article) and was hugely successful as a college coach at USC, where, in his 9 years there, he compiled a 97-19 record a...

Re: 2023-24 NFL/Seahawks Season Thread

That was an ugly win for the Seahawks, what with the turnovers and other examples of poor play. However, once again, they were playing with 3 backups on the O-line and without their top receiver, and this helps explain why the game wasn't the rout everyone expected. The two rookie receivers, Jaxon S...

Re: Lions at Ticats Oct. 13, 2023

I think Dane Evans is a better pure passer than Adams, but he lacks mobility and is extremely slow. At his pro day at Tulsa in 2017, he ran a 5.05 40--5.05! There are a lot of linemen who run a far better 40 than 5.05 sec. He also did poorly in the agility drills—the 20 yard shuttle and 3-cone drill...

Re: Lions at Ticats Oct. 13, 2023

Really intrigued on how Hardy will be. I've always preferred bigger backs even if speed is sacrificed. Millington and Smith were a couple of my favourites. Since the Lions offense is heavily revolved around the passing as attack, I'm really interested to see if Hardy can pick up blitzes and block w...

Re: Chase Claypool

Here's a piece in the Miami Herald on Claypool, including some of his thoughts on joining the Dolphins. He's stepping into an offense with perhaps the most explosive receiving corps in the NFL with Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle taking the top off defenses. If he can get his head straight and his act...

Re: Chase Claypool

Traded today to the Dolphins for a 6th round pick. If he can't thrive in that offense, there's little hope for him. He had been told by the Bears to stay home the last two weeks.

Re: 2023-24 NFL/Seahawks Season Thread

I agree, Robbie. I thought Drew Lock looked pretty good, although he missed a couple of his passes. The guy has a real cannon for an arm and is mobile too. They are lucky to have a QB of his talent as a backup. What made last night more impressive is that the Seahawks have been playing their last th...

This just in. Perhaps the end of Claypool's time in Chicago?
