Re: Atlantic Schooners

It's possible they keep it, or just call it the top six make it in.. but I'm willing to bet that with 2 5-team divisions, they just go with top 3 of each. Maybe they get really crazy and go with 4 teams each? More games = more money. I wouldn't be in favor of this, as it would dilute the value of se...

Re: Atlantic Schooners

Good on Ambrosie for making this a league priority. Imo it gives the CFL a degree of legitimacy. Balancing the schedule is a bonus. 10 teams seems so much better than 9. No more confusing (for casuals) crossover. A truly Canadian league, coast to coast. It's teams like Green Bay that enhance the NFL...

Re: Halftime Show

When they announced who would do halftime, I wasn't impressed. However, being at the game changed my mind. She's a young urban sounding "name" who did a pretty good job. It gave the vibe that the cfl is cool, which is very important for marketing imo. The weekend would have been way better...

Re: Grey Cup Tix on sale soon!

Got some fancy thick wool socks from MEC the other day. Gonna probably wear ski pants and extra layers. Hot toddies sounds great! Hopefully they serve those at Commonwealth. I suspect they have it all sorted out, this cold weather stuff. Anyone going to the lions den? Is that as decent spot, or any ...

Re: 2018 All Things Lions Marketing & Promotions

So they raised prices at mid field by $20 per season seat, keeping the the outer coaches sideline the same as before. Everything else seemed to go up slightly I think. I moved from mid field to the red zone on the 20 for next year.. Saving around $400 on the pair. Will be nice to be closer to half t...

Bring in Reilly. Maybe Trestman?

Hervey will define is era this off-season. We need a new culture. Too many eggs laid the past few seasons. Not a team you can believe in to show up, that must change.

Re: Calgary 26 - BC 9, Post-Game Stats and Comments

I'm not generally a conspiracy theorist, but I wouldn't worry too much, Leos fans. Wally and Dave D are buds. Lots of money on the line for the visitors, nothing for us. If there was ever a time to throw one, tonight coulda been it. Crazy?

Re: Game Day Thread, Last Home Game of the Season: Leos vs. Stamps

Going to the big Wally send off tonight. Big game for both teams. Calgary, it's obvious. The Lions? Well, they can win one for the gipper and have some momentum for next week, or they can lose at home in front of a big crowd at the Wally B party... What a confidence killer that would be. Make no mis...

Re: Riders 35 - Lions 16, Post-Game Stats and Comments

Kinda torn about the game next week

-do we cheer for a win, which hands the riders the division?

-do I bother to go to a meaningless game?

-if I do go, am I celebrating Wally's career, or the fact that he's leaving?

Maybe we'll move seats down to the 20 and just drink and ogle felions lol.

Re: Alessia Cara to perform Freedom Mobile Grey Cup Halftime Show

Nothing against her, and I understand the league's strategy of appealing to youth, but her music and football don't really go together imo. A half time show should fire up the energy. This is sleepy time boring r&b. Not a fan of this choice.

Re: Lions 32 - Alouettes 14, Post-Game Stats and Comments

Big win, as a loss would have crushed both team morale and the mathematical chances of playoffs. Interestingly, the East games are now bigger than divisional games, as i can't realistically see us catching Calgary, Edmonton, or Sask. One thing about the CFL though, is you never know! Can't wait til ...

Re: Lions 26 - RedBlacks 14, Post-Game Stats and Comments

Way to go and get that W boys. One comment. And not to be negative after a win, but.... It was the kind of game that we seemed to have at the half. Good teams turn these types of games into blowouts. You know what I mean. When you're physically a step up at home and the scoreboard is also in your fa...

Re: New Angus Reid Poll: CFL vs NFL

Like em both. CFL because it's our game and tickets don't require a second mortgage. Nfl because its the "big league" with the best talent. I love the CFL, but around this time of year when I tune into my first nfl game, I notice how tight and crisp the game looks in comparison.

Re: American anthem at CFL games

I was in the beer line when it came on. Expecting to hear o Canada, instead it's the star Spangled banner.. It felt slightly offputting to me, as there are few things we have that aren't American based in our culture, and CFL football, to me, is one of those things. Since I wasn't in my seat, I miss...
