Re: Lions sold

To quote Red Green: "If it works; Its not temporary". And it it doesn't work there's always the handyman's secret weapon, duct tape. Exactly--it's results that count. When you look back at Wally's dual HC/GM role for most of his career, there is no doubt he relied on assistants to ...

Re: Randy Ambrosie optimistic about 2021

HAM and OTT have just announced (along with the Blue Jays) the double vaccination requirement/recent negative test result for attendance of those age 12 and up. https://www.cfl.ca/2021/08/23/ontario-cfl-teams-add-vaccine-requirements-negative-covid-testing-admission/ BC could be about to with the ex...

Re: Lions sold

In that case, this co-GM situation would last as long as Campbell remains here/decides he can handle it/isn't fired.

Re: Lions sold

Bear in mind that there still are Hervey decisions on the roster. It will take another season or two to really start fresh. Hopefully we get the best possible full-time GM hire. Lions have gone with 2 co-GMs in Campbell and McEvoy so what do you mean by full-time GM hire? Hamilton has been operatin...

Re: Lions sold

Here's a few more thoughts/ideas from Mr. Doman. You can do all these things, yet so much hinges on the actual play on the field. Will our Lions characteristically become a winning team? If we're merely mediocre ongoing it, to a significant degree, deflates the tires of whatever is put in motion by...

Looks good. All the backed up threads and posts (even up to last night) have returned.

EDM-TOR first COVID cancelled game

Reports are that EDM-TOR on Thursday will be the first postponed/cancelled game due to multiple EDM players with positive tests. Since the team is below the 85% vaccinated threshold, they would be charged with the forfeit and an L. https://twitter.com/FarhanLaljiTSN/status/1429617440766382082 https:...

Re: CFL return to play 2021

Seeing Bede kicking for TOR is something. It wasn't that long ago he had a chronic case of the yips (even worse than Yamasaki). 2017-19 seasons with MTL saw him recover enough for TOR to trade for him. His first 2 games this year weren't great, but he was 3/3 on FGs today.

Re: Elks vs. Lions Aug. 19, 2021

WPG is requiring all guests to be double vaccinated for entry. WPG invoked that requirement for the season opener. I would like to see all CFL teams do this. Vaccines are more effective than masks and likely booster shots could be an annual thing. Agreed--vaccination is the only way to manage COVID...

Re: Elks vs. Lions Aug. 19, 2021

WPG is requiring all guests to be double vaccinated for entry. SSK had minor reports of transmission at the home opener vs BC, both in the Pil Country area and on a shuttle bus. They have a get vaccinated + masks recommended policy like BC does, but as you can see on TV, no one is wearing them. http...

Re: Elks vs. Lions Aug. 19, 2021

Interesting to see Bonnie Henry making a public spectacle of herself not wearing a mask at the game. Lions should be embarrassed. The game was forgettable but this isn't. With the current regs that we are under, wearing a mask is not required indoors if you are fully vaccinated and maintain 2 m dis...

Fund raising letters that look like a bill with the words "Invoice" printed in broad letters across the top of it with various amounts listed as "please pay".
Trump did that for years (apparently his followers are/were a lot more devoted than Ford's).

Re: Elks vs. Lions Aug. 19, 2021

I have 5 game credits to use from 2019, and decided to pass on this one and the 2nd CGY game in November. I'm also dbl vaccinated, and my work doesn't involve much contact with others. When it does, I put on a mask , and I never stopped wearing a mask in stores. I don't have any unvaccinated depende...

Re: Lions sold

For some reason I'm thinking the CanWel logo might have been evident in recent years. Doman Industries before morphing into WFP was predominently a lumber manufacturer with sawmills in Nanaimo, Chemainus, Duncan etc. Advertising or sponsoring at local sporting events attended by consumers generally...
