Re: Lulay Gone Up To Six Weeks
I think Beck was very mediocre, but Marsh did a much better job of sucking. To be fair, Beck has seen very little game action, so he was going in cold. I don't see any improvement over how so-so he was in his appearances last season. Even if Travis is only out for 6 weeks, the knee injury (which he ...

Re: Sekeres: Tedford's job on the line
This surprises me, and yet it doesn't. It doesn't surprise me when I hear things about the players not being happy with Tedford's coaching style and his strict rules, or his high energy uptempo practices that wear everyone down. It does surprise me when I consider how big of a hiring he was and his...

Re: 2015 All Things Lions Marketing & Promotions
I just received this by email from Telus (as an Optik customer) It's only for the endzones, and is what Skulsky was saying during President's Week on 1040. (It's called "Telus Back to School Offer", and they are the gameday sponsor). Kind of useless though, since right now there is nothing...

Re: Lions vs. The Als Thursday, Sept. 3rd
Just heard on 1040 that Cato will not be suiting up for the game, Marsh will be the starting QB.

Re: CFL Regular Season
Back when SSK was 0-3, I thought they would have to go 0-6 or 1-9 before Chamblin was in danger. They decided to do a clean sweep at 0-9.

Re: Lions vs. The Als Thursday, Sept. 3rd
^^^^You just said what I was thinking. The way I look at it, if BC can't win at least 1 game each vs MTL and OTT (go 0-2 in the season series vs both), they can forget about making the playoffs, and should be making moves to get ready for next season. The biggest priority is try to develop a new QB.

Re: 2015 All Things Lions Marketing & Promotions
You're absolutely right Dano. For a non-divisional match-up with work the next day, the stands were strangely full in the last minute, even when the Als pulled away by 10. Despite being a late arriving crowd, there were more fans in the stands than the Argo game. Not a lot more mind you, but defini...

Re: Als 23 @ Leos 13 - Post Game Stats and Comments
It was frustrating to watch--it took 3 full quarters before the OFF put some points up. Even when BC had the lead briefly, you could sense they would be incapable of keeping any kind of momentum. PA Matt Baker kept trying to belittle ex-Lion Stefan Logan's kick return efforts "stopped for littl...

Re: Ti-Cats 52 - Lions 22 Post Game Stats and Comments
It was obvious after the second fumble by Andrew Harris (he looked like Chad Owens at his most careless) that Murphy's law was going to apply for the Lions all night. Well, at least Travis managed to avoid being knocked out for the season with an injury. As expected, HAM D did not let up and it was ...

Re: Lions at Ticats Aug. 15
It's Tim Hortons Field now, but for me the fateful day for the Lions was Oct 12, 2012. It was old Ivor Wynne (with the dangerously narrow sidelines). BC rolled to an easy 37-17 win, but late in the game Lulay was ragdolled into the wall and suffered his first (as a Leo) shoulder injury. If they can ...

MTL may have a top ranked D, but their O-Line (which used to be stellar) is putting all their QB's into deer in the headlights mode.TheLionKing wrote:Cato looked totally bewildered out there with all the pressure coming his way.

Re: CFL Regular Season
Yes--I will be surprised if BC doesn't get stomped on by HAM on Saturday. They are missing a few weapons on OFF (Gable, Fantuz), but it didn't make much difference against WPG. Anyone else surprise that it's their first day back at practice last Thursday? They were given 4 days off. 3 days of pract...

Re: CFL Regular Season
Just goes to show--injury-hindered Willy had a ball against the polite Lions pussy-cat D. I was thinking along the same lines but more on the other side of the ball. At halftime of their Ham game down 31-0 I posted here asking, "Is this the same Wpg team that held us to 13pts in their last gam...

Re: Skulsky episode of 2015 Presidents' Week Series on TSN10
The demise of the gun metal grey jersey is very very disappointing, and shows that the team doesn't listen to their consumers. Sure some traditionalists here didn't like it, but what matters are the massive amounts of demand and interest there was for these jerseys in the public. These jerseys were...

Re: CFL Regular Season
good job o'shea, way to take your qb out of the game in a blowout oh wait no you didn't, and now he's hurt 6-8 wks is the prognosis acc to this cfl.ca article . On the plus side they get to play Ssk twice in that stretch for Labour Day and Banjo Bowl. Just goes to show--injury-hindered Willy had a ...
