New Hamilton Stadium
I know that this isn't about our Lions, but is anyone else surprised to see the plans for the new Hamilton stadium, projected to be built in time for the 2014 season? Sure, it will be nicer than Ivor Wynn, but I can't get over the capacity: 22,500 seats (expandable to 40,000 for special events). Thi...

Re: Harris vs. Cornish For Top Canadian
Don't you all think that Cornish's enormous narcissism and arrogance will work against him with the judges?

Re: clinch 1st place
That's right. One more win in the last three games clinches first for the Leos. Or...one loss by Calgary and Saskatchewan in their last three.joewillie63 wrote:I believe we can clinch 1st place when we beat the eskimos friday. Not that there was any doubt.

Re: Is it Just Me?
My observations have come by looking at where the receivers are when the line starts to move. I haven't usually followed the snap.

Re: Clarification on our OLine
Do the Lions have any offensive linemen on the 46-man, but not 42-man, roster? If it were necessary, I think injecting an import guard (if any we have are good enough) and dropping Elimimian wouldn't hurt us. I'm not so concerned about next year; I think Wally et al. will get this fixed. But I am wo...

Re: Harris vs. Cornish For Top Canadian
Cornish's extreme a**holery may work against his getting this. Harris is so mature, modest, and unassuming in comparison.

Is it Just Me?
Or do the rest of you guys see offside by receivers heading towards the line of scrimmage on a lot of plays? For a while, I thought it might just be my aging eyes failing to pick up the snap of the ball, but I've really concentrated on this hard the last few games, and it seems to me that something ...

Re: 2012 U.S. Presidential Election Thread
Completely agree with you about the Bidenisms--laughing, smirking, etc. Really stupid, in my opinion, and, as you say, memorable.

Re: 2012 U.S. Presidential Election Thread
Post VP Debate Opinions. Overall, seen as a draw. Some polls give a slight edge to Ryan (e.g., CNN - 48/44), others to Biden (CBS - 50/31). If Biden had kept the smiles, smirks, and eye-rolling out of his performance, my guess is that he would have been seen generally as the winner. The outright lie...

Re: 2012 U.S. Presidential Election Thread
Frankly, I think the media has blown this Libya attack way out of proportion. Really? You think a terrorist attack on a US consulate in the middle east where an ambassador and security personnel are murdered isn't a story? You've misunderstood my point. Of course, a terrorist attack on a US consula...

Re: Should we sign Cory Boyd
That's a good question. I've thought for some time that we could benefit from a big, tough import RB. Boyd is 6-1 and 214 lbs. He also has lots of CFL experience. I don't think I'd see him as a long-term acquisition, but maybe as insurance for the rest of this season. What happens if Harris goes dow...

Re: 2012 U.S. Presidential Election Thread
I get a sense the media is beginning to turn on the Democrats. They seem upset about being lied to about Libya, which I think is going to blow up as a major scandal before the election, and should be a major motif of next Romney/Obama debate. If Biden sh*ts the bed tonight, I can imagine they'll st...

Re: 2012 U.S. Presidential Election Thread
You raise a valid question about spoils to the victors but it isn't always the case you get to keep what you won. Germany being one example. How about Japan, Iraq or Grenada, do those belong to the US? Well the 56 current US military installations in Germany (and many more closed at various times m...

Re: O Line in Hamilton
I guess we can look forward to Matt Norman's arrival next season. With luck we may even get Kirby Fabien for next season. You may, unfortunately, be right about Valli. It's also beginning to look as if Hamster is always going to be a player who is either injured or hurting in some way.

O Line in Hamilton
Any ideas of what the O Line (well, the guards anyway) will look like in Hamilton? Evidently, Hamster is being left in Vancouver. So will it be Kabongo and Valli? Is Jesse Newman in the picture at all? Is Angus Reid healthy enough to play?
