Re: Well Jarious or Buck

Some of the comments on the race issue are making this sound like the US Presidential election but focusing in on this comment about being easier to identify with a person of the same colour as you is being taken way too far. I am home this month but am living and working in Hong Kong mostly and am ...

Re: Great News...Murphy Could Be A Leo For Longer Than Expected

With what has happened to the U.S. housing market this past year , perhaps a CFL contract has looked much better. Dollar difference now from what it was when Murphy first came , probably has made the CFL more attractive too . Being a real estate agent in Florida now just doesn't seem that good anym...

Re: CFL Preview On TSN Tonight!

TSN CFL review is on now. 5 pm PST Mark Cohon down playing NFL threat. Brian Williams is asking the questions and telling him of the history of the CFL and near going under. He speaks of sponsors etc and the need for southern Ont to be a CFL stronghold. Cohon looking a bit weak around the NFL workin...

Re: Pierce Looks Like Starter (June 23, 2008)

The Calgary media is still able to watch the first 23 minutes of practice each day, then they are escorted out of the stadium for the remainder of the session. Huf has each minute of practice scripted and is apparantly a real stickler for the details. I heard on the noon CKNW sports news that Buck ...

Re: Pierce Looks Like Starter (June 23, 2008)

Both coaches are being coy and not wanting to give away too much informtion heading into the season opener. John Hufnagel has taken the unusual step of closing practices to the media. He's not even identifying any of his starters. Will we see a lot of new schemes and trick plays? Given that situati...

Re: Official 2007-08 Vancouver Canucks Season Thread

The Province story today is pointing out what I wondered in my own mind and that is that the new GM Mike Gillis' opening comments on the Canucks has alienated many in the GM fraternity who liked Dave Nonis. The story says that it was leaked all over town that the Sedins were on the market including ...

Re: Buck Pierce - A Look Back at the 2004 -05 Season at NMSU

Great story  Shows how much character the guy has; I just hope at some point he won't have to deal with injuries so much that has hampered his college and CFL career so far :cr: He was hurt in college (a few times, not all the time) due to the offense they ran for his first 3 years there. It ...

Re: Anyone with ICBC experience? Very minor accident - help!

He says he wants it fixed cause his car wasn't marked, whereas my bumper was previously scratched, so I don't care. My only concern is that I just (meaning yesterday) got a job with Coast Mountain Bus and apperently they frown on any 'at fault' accidents during your probationary period. I could car...

Re: Anyone with ICBC experience? Very minor accident - help!

It doesn't sound like it will be a claim from your description of no damage. How these things get adjudicated begins with who was doing what at the time of the collision. You have a responsibility in law to ensure that as you are backing out it is clear behind you. If that is stopped vehicle behind ...

Re: Well Jarious or Buck

I have no idea why it is so lopsided in Buck's favour. Doesn't make alot of sense based on their play and JJ's season last yr. Should at least be alot closer. Jarious has the better arm and throws a nicer ball in my opinion. Seems more durable, was amazing pulling off big plays at clutch times last...

Re: Well Jarious or Buck

I was at the game and I too don't feel that Buck started slow at all other than he missed a couple of out tosses that anyone can and he had an easy dropped ball by the new guy that killed a drive and put Calgary back on the field and helped them get to 10 points before the Lions got their first TD. ...

Re: Bob Ackles: Standing up for the CFL...

The debate on whether or not the NFL plans to come to Toronto full time is interesting, but misses the point of what Bob Ackles and Larry Campbell are saying. Campbell may or may not think his bill has a hope of passing, but at the least he is trying to create interest among Canadian football fans ...
