Re: Nathan Rourke Waived by Jacksonville Jaguars
None gave a rat's @$$ about his CFL season?!?!?!? How did he manage to get calls from 2/3 of NFL teams and workouts with 12 while declining several other workout offers? These teams must have all suddenly found his Ohio tapes collecting dust in the closet if his CFL play was not a factor in making ...

Re: Nathan Rourke Waived by Jacksonville Jaguars
It looks like Rourke is signing to be on the Jaguars practice roster. Rourke could have signed to be on the practice roster of any NFL team who wanted him for that role. Rourke thought he had a chance to challenge for the backup quarterback position in Jacksonville. But that was not the case. Beath...

Re: Nathan Rourke Waived by Jacksonville Jaguars
I’ll spare you my shocked face. That said, he could and should one a job somewhere, if there is justice. I would question others assertion that he outplayed Beathard but frankly I’d rather have chosen Rourke in evaluating the two when considering the roster building exercise of building out a roster...

Re: Rourke NFL workouts: chooses Jacksonville
To Dano's point after your post the NFL is also struggling with QBs who can be top performers and that rule change for 3 is not going to help the CFL in future. Maybe someone needs to track and publish the success rate of those heading south so players can make informed decisions. Rourke will likel...

Re: Lions at Bombers Aug. 3, 2023
I think the lesson here is, when you lose the battle in the trenches, you lose the game. And the Lions definitely lost that battle.

Re: Lions at Bombers Aug. 3, 2023
* Can we talk about the elephant in the room no one seems to want to talk about? Lucky's production. Granted, he may still be suffering the lingering effects of a hamstring but that's another problem. An inability to stay healthy. I still want to see more of Terry Williams at WR or packages. DH :co...

Lions are not a team that can make any in-game offensive adjustments as the playbook and signal caller rely totally on execution.
It's wrong in this case, however. Evans is a backup for a reason.

Re: Lions at Argos July 3, 2023
Completely forgot to mention that RB Mizzell was under the tent for most of the third quarter. Apologies for that.

Re: Lions at Argos July 3, 2023
On Monday Adams reminded me of Danny McManus in his Lions tenure. D-Mac could look like the best QB in the CFL and the worst all in the same game. He'd make a bunch of great plays then come up with an inexcusable brain fart. Danny Mac was an entirely different type of QB. He had the single fastest ...

Re: Lions at Argos July 3, 2023
I would like to see Cottoy used more often too; he can release like a tight end and be open as an outlet for VA. But you're right. VA (Maksymic?) favors the intermediate, deep passing plays over the middle that aren't always going to work against good defenses. VA's strength as a QB is generally wh...

Re: Lions at Argos July 3, 2023
So having seen it in person (yikes) I noticed a couple of things. First, let me mention the good. I really, really, really enjoy watching Cottoy play. He's a lot of fun whether he's out wide, run blocking, serving as a tight end or just generally being moved around the field. And watching how he was...
